Default What Exhaust to get for the ST

Was hoping to get a hi tech one from Syd, but they don't have a kit and can't wait for them to hopefully do another st and send it over to the west

Soooo what do people with after market exhausts have, brand, res non res, legal db ? And also cost if you don't mind

Am now lookin at the miltek from puma speed, just not sure about res or not, and how loud it will be on the car

Regards,
Shane

I went for the MillTek non-resonated cat back kit (SSXFD100).

Paid around AU$970 delivered from PumaSpeed. Ordered it late Monday evening and picked it up at the couriers that Friday afternoon.

It is definitely louder than stock - can hear it echo off walls/cars under power and it pops under trailing throttle. Wouldn't suggest it would fail roadworthy though, been pulled over twice and the cops haven't even looked twice at it. Being an older driver may help though.

Overall I am happy with it. Ford service department also commented on the "mean" exhaust note so it must be good... ;)

If just going cat back mongoose also offers them for the fiesta ST
Not fitted one yet, only focus RS and escort cosworths so far so can't really comment but the focus systems were quite nice.....Aussie supplier has a few left too I think.

Usually fit miltek as that's what I get asked for the most

Hi guys just wanted to know can the standard system be removed without cutting it, as my dealer said that if something went wrong with the motor ford would try to blame the exhaust but if the standard can be refited then problem solved.

Not without dropping the whole rear axle assembly. I spent nearly an hour trying to manipulate the factory exhaust off before giving up and grabbing the angle grinder. It might be possible with the car on a hoist but it really didn't look like I got anywhere near getting it out...

In the mountune thread they actually cut the eom exhaust 2 times once behind the rear silencer and another in the centre section

But on a different note I arrived home today to find my milltek exhaust that I ordered on Sunday night sitting on my door step :-), luv puma speed postage :-)

Bit of a thread revival here, but for those who have swapped exhausts and have now lived with them for a while, what are your thoughts - especially on the Milltek?

I had a 'Goose on my old Focus RS and ST170 so would happily go that way again, but - along with a myriad others - am still waiting to see what Mountune does. If theirs isn't released by year's end, I'm forgetting about them and their lies...

I too have been eagerly waiting on the Mountune exhaust, seems to be delay after delay. If it isn't ready early next year I'll be ordering a Miltek or Mongoose.
