I got mine off ebay very similar to that, i am having huge problems seeing at night, original lights dont shine through the white face.. i put blue superbright l.e.d parkers in it, and still only gave a very very dull blue, not enough to see anything at night. Then i tried mounting a u.v light above the guages inside the dash.. and cut out the top of the cluster, the white didnt react with the u.v light at all!!! still no go... my next idea is a blue neon above the cluster to replace the u.v. hopefully that will work, but i had to cut up the cluster to do it. hope this helps you make your mind up, having said that, if the blue neon works, they should look bloody awesome!

The night pic is somewhat sus. How does the whole thing suddenly illuminate white?

I think this type of set-up is supposed to illuminate like a normal cluster at night, there shouldn't be too much stuffing around. A blue neon should look hot though.

I've got a admit I was sceptical after seeing a lot of bad custom jobs done, but still I made my own design and bought replacement plastic panels from this guy on eBay SPEED GRAPHICS. Job was very professional, at night time it's great, no problems whatsoever, it took me a while to get used to white lettering, because I was used to orange for the last 8 years. Problems actually occur in the day

Pictured mere

The ovals where the fuel/battery/oil/temp gauges go plus the trip meter and odometer are covered by the plastic, with your normal cluster panels, these areas are not covered by anything, this creates a problem when the sun is reflected onto the dash, as it make it harder to see the gauge during the day, also during the day, if you drive with your lights or parkers on, the dash doesn't light up as well, but ofcourse these two problems only occur during day driving. I can take some night photos if you like, but at the moment the EB is getting it's diff fixed and my girlfriend has the camera.
