Default unichip?

ok guys.. i'm heading towards a chip now....

is unichip the way to go in piggyback chips? (yes piggyback so that if insurance claims ever arise, that it can be unplugged easily)...

i want it tuned to the car, has anyone had any experiences on good value places to do it?

im in the north-west i think (coburg?) i think g-tech performance does it around here, but does anyone know any other places or what i should roughly be paying?

thanks,

santo

Why would you tell your insurance company? it will be well hidden away under the kick panel where the ecu is, no one has to know.....
unichip- fitted and tuned is $500-550
going by your sig, you have a manual, Unichip would be the way to go.. having been in before and after chipped cars, the difference in peak power may not be all that much(10-15kw on average from what ive seen), but damn the power band is certainly stronger and the car is way more driveable.. totally changes the car..

That would be if you supplied a second hand chip yourself. It's more like $1250 to have a new one fitted and tuned.

I enquired through ChipTorque about one fitted and tuned for me.

$550 for the chip, $500 custom tuning.

I'm going to stick with what I've got on me.

yep the Unichip is a good thing if you have some mods that mean the std ecu tune is way off. plenty of forum members use them most are pretty happy. Check my gallery and you will see it worked for me. Spiro is good but in Sydney so you might want to check out APS in Croyden or G&D in Cranbourne depending where you are in Melbourne

I got mine done at Dynomotive in Bayswater for about $1300 back in the day. Picked up about 10rwkw. They know their stuff but just don't expect them to be over the moon when you bring an EA in and they have to stop working on 400rwkw Monaro's.
