Hi guys have wanted to buy a new Mustang when they arrive, So I have sent many emails to Ford Australia to ask about price and how I can order. Get this you can now put a deposit on a new Mustang. But they wont tell you the price they will be.
Who do Ford Australia think they are. So I can order a new Mustang, and pay them a deposit, which , I am told is non refundable.. AND WHEN THE CAR GETS HERE I WILL BE TOLD THE PRICE. It is all over Ford ( Such arrogance !!!

Better yet wait 12+ months after and see how the market takes to them.

I think you will find this would be the same for any brand that is yet to officially launch a vehicle for sale.
Ford have actually released a guiding range of between $50,000 to $70,000. That top end price would be for a V8 auto Convertible Premium/Performance pack on the road. The lower price for a EcoBoost hardtop manual on the road.

The issue is the OP has been asked to place a deposit that they have been told is non-refundable on a car for a price they have no idea about.
I'd be surprised if it actually was non-refundable so I'd be inclined to try another dealer. |

No one is forcing him to do that. If he isn't comfortable doing that then don't. Simple I would have thought. It's not like he will miss out on a car if he doesn't.

That is ludicrous of Ford. OP, just wait for someone else to buy one, they will sell it within 6 months for 2/3 of new price. When I bought my full optioned HSV R8 it had 28,000 kms on the clock. New price 70k. I paid 55k. This was direct from a big Holden/HSV dealer.
If Ford want to be stupid, then don't buy new. |

Pricing for the Mustang is yet to be determined so that part is correct.
Prior to the release of the FG X XR8 the dealers did not know the price on those either but you could put a refundable $1000 deposit down to secure a XR8. About a month ago I asked the dealer I have ordered my XR8 from and the deal is the same for the Mustang. Email from the dealer below. quote With regards to the Mustang, I can tell you that it will be arriving at approximately July/August next year in the 5.0 Litre V8 models of fast back (auto or manual option) and convertible (manual only). The 5.0 Litre V8 for Australia will produce 303 KW and 525Nm of torque. A large number of vehicles are already pre-ordered by Australian customers, and these confirmed orders have priority. We already have 5 customer orders in with Ford. Ford will then allocate stock to dealers towards the end of next year. Nett effect: available vehicles should be sitting in showrooms by 2016. My advice to potential customers is: place an order early, and should the prices change then we can work around it as we did with your XR8. Colours are: · Race Red •Deep Impact Blue •Black •Ruby Red •Ingot Silver •Oxford White •Competition Orange •Magnetic •Triple Yellow Tri-Coat •Guard http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/gallery/colors-and-360-views/ Prices are yet to be released. Speculation has it that a convertible may be in the vicinity of A$90,000.00, and a fast back from A$75,000.00. uquote

Don't forget though in September 2014 they thought the XR8 may be near 70k but once pricing was released by Ford they were around 55k. You would expect the same
with the Mustang, tell the public it will be more expensive then it really will be.

Requested my deposit back on a 5.0 Mustang 2 weeks ago, got it back no worries.
Price speculation has scared me off, I'll still keep my eye out for a bargain pre owned or demo Stang in the 50k region. |

the Aussie dollar is now trading at less than .78c for $1us.
i don't think too many Mustangs will get sold after the initial rush. Last edited by nuthin' fancy; 05-02-2015 at 05:07 PM. |

The falling $$$ will do no favours for the price of the Mustang.

Whats going to be really interesting is the effect on the Tickford Mustang values.
I wouldnt mind one myself but alot of the coupes are still up at $35-40k+.......a little bit more and you may be able to buy a ecoboost straight off the showroom floor!
