Mate I think its in front of the tank on the drivers side.
Apparently its a royal pain to change.

Both those links refer to the LR Focus, I don't think the LS, LT or LV have a fuel filter.

I just recently bought the Haynes 2005 to 2009 Focus repair manual and it has no mention of a Fuel Filter. To be honest I'm pretty surprised about that but after checking out the underside of the car I cant see one anywhere. There is a big charcoal canister at the rear of the fuel tank but that is all I could see.

My Focus is a 08 LT by the way.

That is really painful. Even Haynes does not show about location of FUEL Filter. WTF.

My guess is that it probably has a permanent fuel filter in the fuel tank.

Its a Dec 05 model ...

Put one in.
Get an aftermarket filter (easier to change) some 2x Proflow AF109-05BLK hardline adapters.
Cut fuel line use the hard line adapters measured to fit filter.

Perfect.

would that ,," adding a second filter ,, stock style sort for the earlier sort " , disturb the fuel system tho ,? .

Default Fuel Filter location

Would have to look into it a little more and ask questions.
I used the above method to replace OEM filter.
FG I should add.
They are a bastard to undo and going to run e85.
So cut fuel lines and removed replaced with Aftermarket one.
