Default LR Focus Mystery Part

Hi all,

I was pulling my heater blower out this morning as it got drenched and destroyed in the Sydney weather and discovered a mystery part.

When I pulled the fabric panel away from under the glove box this part fell out with it, I have no idea what it is or where it's come from and was hoping someone here may have an idea.

I can't even think of a way to describe it to search for a solution.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Jon

Hey mate,
That is the glove box damper, stops the glove box slamming open if not supported. Looks as though yours has been snapped off...

The damper in my mazda 3 got snapped off and I found it sitting up behind the glovebox. When I was changing cabin filters.

Hope this helps

Nice find! Glovebox Damper is just another feature that is handy. If you've got it loaded with stuff and sick & tired of the lid slamming down on your knees every time you open it, just adjust it and it opens in a nice fluid movement.

Thanks guys! There's nothing that looks broken on this part so hopefully it will just go back on. Cheers

I just went and checked things out and it looks like it just fell off without breaking anything. The keyhole cutout on the glovebox looks a little worn but it should go back together without any issues.
