I want to get an FGX to add to my three FG's, but I want it to be special.
My suggestion is an XR6/8 painted in "Henry Ford Blue" - the same blue as on the Ford badge - with twin white stripes longitudinally down the length of the car, and with white XR8 wheels and Brembos. If I can get some consensus and good feedback, maybe we can convince Ford to build a hundred or so. What would be your ideal final limited edition Falcon? |

Mad Max
XR8 or XR6 turbo: Slightly raised suspension, knobbly tyres, nudge bar, driving lights, special colours and trim. |

I have an XR6 Turbo and an Ecolpi. The Turbo is so fast its scary, and the Ecolpi costs me less than a Fiesta to drive.
If only they could combine the two. As for my Henry Ford Blue final edition, I would accept a Winter White with blue stripes. That would be very Ford. There should be a "final edition" celebration Falcon. |

I would like to see a 2017 Falcon. That would be special and limited.

Sounds good.
I am not sure that there is too much engineering money left in Ford. Any XR6 or XR8 with special "Final Edition" treatment. |

8 speed DSG gear box mated to the XR8 that would see some 1/4 mile times and 0-100 times fall way to many r&d dollars to make it possible, nice to think what a 2020 falcon may have been

Mustang will have 10 speed auto within a year or 2. Falcon probably would have eventually received that.

Jaguar have just built a number of Lightweight E- Types to the exact 1963 specifications. Hardtops would be easy by comparison, although they would need to cost much less than the million dollars or so for the Jags!
I would still be happy with a blue or white XR6/8 with stripes and Brembos. Ford have written back to me and said that they would consider building them if they had enough solid feedback. |

Just keep building the falcons, even if they are paid for before hand...if the FG-X is any example of a class car, then they will sell...

Gotta have Brembos front and rear, Sprint doesn't work for me. Its not significant enough. Something like Ford Falcon XR6 Henry. Or Ford Falcon XR6 Edsel (no, not serious about that). Maybe the Moffat? Any ideas on the name? The Ford marketers read Ford Forums, so we could make a difference. |

If this is true then anything they do won't be "special" it will be a "gimmick". Like the "murphy" commodores, lame, and even worse the GTR commodore, they just took a popular Japanese badge and threw it on a normal VF. I think the xr8 is the perfect farewell. Silly paint schemes and badges would just make them look a bit desperate to be remembered.

Ford and General Motors are currently in the process of co-developing a new 10-speed automatic transmission that should find itself into future vehicles from both automakers. Automtoive News says the gearbox will initially be used in the thirteenth-generation Ford F-150 and other large vehicles, but will eventually be adapted for use in the sixth-generation Mustang as well.
The 10-speed will allow the Mustang to properly battle in other segments outside America, as it will likely result in fuel efficiency gains for the sports car. The transmission will replace the six-speed automatic unit the car was introduced with, likely in the 2016 or 2017 timeframe. The 2015 Mustang has a new, middle-of-the range power plant in the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost I4 engine, which serves as the middle-of-the-range powerplant, slotting between the base V6 and V8 GT. In Europe, the EcoBoost is the base engine while the V8 is the optional motor. Ford has not confirmed the 10-speed Mustang rumor. For its part, GM may use a different transmission for its next-generation 2016 Camaro, even though the 10-speed was co-developed by the two automakers. Read more: http://motrolix.com/2014/08/10-speed...#ixzz3eMMSobAw It's already been confirmed for the next F150 Raptor which I think is a MY2017 release in late 2016? So it's not far off being used. |
