Default Weekly Race 4 Real Report: 23rd September 2015

Wednesday night Race 4 Real off-street meets continue to be one of the most popular events on the Sydney Dragway calendar and it’s quite easy to see why!

Here are some great performances from last week’s Race 4 Real at Sydney Dragway.

Top Holden of the Week

Top Holden of the week goes to this red SS wagon, self titled ‘BIG RED’. With its aggressive wheel fitment and equally aggressive tyre wall this family wagon certainly lived up to its name with a 12.5 @ 116.66 MPH.

Top Ford of the Week

The XR6 turbo continues to gain more and more popularity as a drag strip regular. With consistent times of 11.1 @ 142.09 MPH it’s not hard to see why!

Top Japanese of the Week

While the Silvia might be more accustomed to going sideways around a track, this tidy example had no trouble tackling the quarter mile. With a first timer behind the wheel this black beauty put down a 12.8 @ 113.11MPH.

Top Rotary of the Week

The FC RX7 may be one of the more neglected cars from the wakel family, though with some tough fitment, a sneaky black front mount and pop up headlights we couldn’t keep our eyes of this rotor. Running a best time of 13.5 @ 109.40 MPH on the night.

Top European of the Week

The Megane RS is one of the hottest hot hatches to come out of the Renault stables. The turbo charged pocket rocket waved the FWD flag high with a time of 14.3 @ 99.76 MPH.

Commentators Pick of the Week

It’s no surprise this Kombi Ute took home commentators pick of the week. Along with its rusty appearance, propped up canopy and FAT rear tyres it sounded amazing on idle and was shooting flames off the line! Making the most of its time on the strip with a 17.7 @ 91.63 MPH.

Race 4 Real is on every Wednesday night at Sydney Dragway, weather permitting. Keep it safe, legal and off the streets! Gates open at 4:30PM and racing starts at 6:00PM. Check our website for T&C’s and entry information.

Next Race4Real is this Wednesday 30th of September 2015. See you there!
