Been refreshing my XR8 over the last few weeks. Started with an oil leak that was traced to a steel hydraulic line on the steering rack had split. While hunting for lost oils, removed the tired T5 and the slipping clutch. Dropped the cogs off at Grindrod in Braeside and picked up a heavy duty Exedy clutch. The local machine shop has ground the flywheel and balanced the pressure plate.
Got a new clutch cable and fork cover. Fitted cable OK but cover was the wrong shape. I have made endless enquiries to Ford, Ebay and wrecking yards and I am told the clutch cable connects on the Left (passenger) side. How can this be, mine is on the RHS. So you guys with manual shifters where are your cables coupled up to.

Thanks guys, it would be nice if ford and aftermarket suppliers knew that. I ordered the clutch fork boot off Ebay as it is an obsolete item. The one they sent did not fit and they tried to tell me it was fitted to the LHS and suggested it was my fault for having a modified car with a different bellhousing.
