Default Snow Chains

Hi Guys
has anyone taken their Mondeo to the snow & fitted snow chains?

the MB Owners manual says 'do not fit chains to 235/45/17 tyres'

Assuming this is a clearance issue?
Trying to work out whether I take my Mondeo with these tyres, or the wife's LZ Focus to the snow this coming weekend, as it looks like chains will be required at Falls/Hotham later this week.

thanks.

Default Re: Snow Chains

I'd be taking the Focus mate. Long story short if the owners manual says do not fit chains to your rim and tyre size insurance won't pay out if something happens. I go to the snow every single weekend i am home in the winter and have heard some insurance horror stories due to this reason.
