I find it interesting that evans only seems to drive in a straight line or if he does drive the track he uses all the aides. The mclaren race car he drove only in a straight line, gurantee the other three would have been allowed to run in round the track and then the full on lap in the new one was done by someone else.

This is the first time ever in since watching Top Gear, I couldn't watch a whole episode. I realize it will never replace clarkson, hammond and may, but it just is not good. It is not even Evans, I don't mind leblanc, but I just think something is not right. I dunno.

I don't understand why they sacked Clarkson? I get that he hit his boss but I think it was reasonable and sometimes the king of the jungle has to show his dominance.

Do you think he will come back to Top Gear and make it great? I don't really like him but he was the main star of the show.

I prefer the German girl Sabine any way but I don't think the show will work any more because it doesn't have any chemistry. A good show was Fifth Gear back after Tiff first split with Top Gear. It felt much more like an enthusiast's show than Top Gear (which is more aimed towards the general public than just enthusiasts).

I remember watching Fifth Gear back when I was a kid and I just loved it but I couldn't watch it often. Now I can watch it whenever I want because of the internet. Same with Top Gear.

They should get Clarkson back I reckon. Maybe they will. What do you think?

Nope, he has a three year contract with Amazon, and it will most likely be renewed until he retires. He's already 56, and some of the rigors of the stunts they do will not be as appealing when he's in his 60's. Besides, he makes royalties from Top Gear as it is, and Amazon are paying him over three times as much as the BBC did. He won't return.

This.

Oh and there have been no new Top Gear episodes since Clarkson and co left.

RIP Top Gear

2002 - 2015.

You will be missed.

Agree

I enjoyed this one.
Less of Mr Shouty. Le Blanc hosting it more as well as main host.

Liked the Ken Block segment and Sabine having fun in the R8 and Ford Focus RS review was good also 0-60 in 4.7 secs and drift setting

Ken Hart and the boxer guest was good

Chris Evans chucking up excellent

More enjoyable

As for Extra Gear, good episode also

Just watched episode 4

One thing I noticed is how massive the audience is

Chris Evans is bit more quiet and have to say bearable now

I remember when first episode was released how was said celebrities refused to come back to the new Top Gear
Well seeing Brian Cox and Bear Grylis on this one, makes me think perhaps that that claim was false

This episode, that Aston is a beast

I enjoyed the episode

I'm actually gonna say this, opposite to what I said early on, but Evans is ok if he doesn't shout

A lot of people don't like him but alot of people hated Clarkson and he was a egotistical jerk apparently at times

Anyway looks like new hosts are getting better

Now for Extra Gear

I've only seen the first two episodes so far and the chemistry on set isn't anything like the old gear.
To be fair to the new hosts, they need time to settle and feel comfortable in their roles. I actually think the show has promise and it's good to hear episodes three and four have improved from the first two.

Last nights was ok. Eddie Jordan is ****, evans is ****. If they got rid of those two and just had Leblanc, rory and the other bloke, it could be a good show.

Whilst he does seem to have settled a bit on the show, i still reckon the hosts need a change.

Evans definitely to go
Le Blanc is like a damp squib, dull

Sabine i still like
Chris Harris could be good but sometimes a bit over opinionated
Rory i still like
Jordan i dunno, call him Mr Tourettes, is ok also but doesnt get enough air time

So dunno whom could be the two main hosts yet

Well I've watched a couple of episodes now and I will definitely be watching more, including the extra program.

What really sold me on the car was the insane bit of the Mustang around London.

I am especially impressed by the filming of their outside events. This is really first class quality and there is not another show currently on air that comes near the massive input to produce say a 5 minute segment.

Over the years I got a little jaded by the show. I am now looking forward to future episodes.

Hot off the press

Chris Evans Steps Down from Top Gear

http://www.motorsport.com/automotive...p-gear-795585/

TV presenter Chris Evans has stepped down from his role on Top Gear, just one series after taking over from its previous star Jeremy Clarkson.

Evans signed a three-year deal to front the show, which is the BBC’s biggest earner in terms of overseas sales. He steps down after just six shows were aired.

The show was rebooted for 2016, with a team of six presenters being used to replace the previous trio of Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.

In face of highly-critical reviews, a stunt with Ken Block at the Cenotaph war memorial in London that produced an outcry, and falling viewing figures, Evans tweeted on Monday that he was quitting the show:

I've watched every minute of every episode of season 23. Yes, it started out really bad with Evans shouting for the majority of the episode. He calms down a couple in and nearly becomes bearable. As it seems he's resigned, this won't be a problem going forward.

Matt LeBlanc is a typical, dry witted Yank. I think he was a bit stifled and not given much time in the early episode, but in the later ones his comic timing starts to pay off.

Rory Reid and Chris Harris are quite entertaining in their reviews. I believe that they are great additions to the team. Absolutely loved Rory's little piece on the interior of the Mustang in the last episode.

Sabine is a great driver, but as mentioned before, I think her dialogue struggles due to the English as a second language issue. I had trouble understanding some of the things she was saying when she featured on the show. Which is weird as I could easily understand he when she featured on the old Top Gear, so I don't know why it's harder to understand her in these episodes. They should keep her on and invest in some elocution lessons in the down time for her to help improve her public speaking.

Get rid of Eddie Jordan. Seems like he has no personality and I reckon I'd be just as good (or bad however you look at it) as him.

Default BBC Studio Boss Agrees With What Top Gear Fans Have Been Saying All Along

BBC Studio Boss Agrees With What Top Gear Fans Have Been Saying All Along

http://shiftinglanes.com/2016/09/bbc...ing-all-along/

The rebooted Top Gear with Chris Evans at the helm has performed terribly in the ratings, with the first episode generating around 4.7 million television viewers, a lot less than the 5.8 million viewers that watched the last Clarkson, Hammond, and May episode where they bowed out. The second episode fared a lot worse where the audience fell by more than a third to a dismal 2.8 million viewers, prompting Evans to say “Television viewing figures for Top Gear has never been less relevant.” The ratings continued to plummet again, and regardless of what the iPlayer figures have added the ratings were much worse than what people thought.
