I have a BF GT and have just discovered a few small rust spots in a line coming through where the compliance stickers are on the pillar where the door hinges.
One is coming through underneath the compliance sticker itself leaving a brown mark. Has anybody had this issue, you cant peel off the sticker to repair the panel and to best of my knowledge Ford wont replace the sticker. This is all from a one owner car thats 10 years old and only has 38K on the clock it has hardly ever been out in the rain. There has to be a way around this? |

Take it to a panel beater and see what they say

I would treat the inside of the pillar with a rust preventatitive to stop further corrosion. Spray packs with a straw are available

A panel beater I have used has treated a Fairmont with exactly the same issue and showed me pictures of what has to be done. That car however wasnt a GT which will be judged in the future by its markings with a higher level of scrutiny.

who knows with the legality of it, they look very genuine though and would sort out redcar's issue for sure, let us know how you get on redcar

May just be me but $10 for a compliance sticker for a GT? I'm sure that won't help matters when a keen eye takes a look at it if the car is also for sale.

This does sound almost too good to be true. The company has already replied that the replacement sticker is identical.I somehow think that I have to be careful or Im going to devalue the car or run in future trouble.

For $10 why not get one and see how it looks compared to your old one, before ya start anything??
Only issue if have is if the place is dodgy and you find all your GT info/numbers on a mock up etc later on....? Other than that its probably your only option. |
