Well, I just feel like venting over a car transport company.
23 days so far from Melbourne to Perth and still no sign of the car. I realise the rail line was down for a few days but still... that's a long time. And in that time they have not once made contact with me, it's been me calling them every time. Last communication was last week saying it would arrive today. Nothing. I called them to be told they can't tell me exactly when I'll get it, but hopefully this week. Total lack of communication, total lack of xxxx's given by them. Rude, uncommunicative and lacking any knowledge of what's going on in their own company. Even their tracking is rubbish, badly updated, sometimes days later. And still I wait. Ah, that feels slightly better I think.

If you haven't put any money down as yet, I would tell them to leave and get it transported by someone else.

Nah, it's paid for and allegedly in transit. Never again with them though.

Rail line was out for a week, due to flooding.
Once reopen priority goes to passenger/food/medicines/beer. General cargo, including cars would be the last to get a slot. I'm not surprised that your carrier doesn't know what's going on if this was the major delay. Rail wagons were 'stationed' all across the country waiting for a slot. .

well I saw`a freight train heading from Augusta to Adelaide, 3 wagons of new vehicles plus at least 1 of used.
As I was passing in opposite direction and also 2 brain dead road train drivers in CLOSE convoy I didnt give a great deal of attention. I cant afford a new car so dont pay much attention,

It's their attitude too though. No phone call to say there was a delay. No updating of tracking. No effort to try to find out what was going on. No contact made to me at all. I've made every call, only to find there's another delay. They suck.

Problem is, even with the crappy service and lack of communication, you aren't in the situation where you can pull the pin and use another service. I hope the car exceeds you expectations on arrival. That will make the wait not so bad.

Too true Mr Cat. Hence the vent. But I'm looking forward to seeing the car. Let's hope that having had it for this long they haven't damaged it.

This is where a vehicle GPS/tracker device comes in handy.

CEVA. And it's the communication I am annoyed at. I understand that delays happen, but they should be telling the people waiting for their cars, espeecially after an official complaint. Today I got told "we only call when it's ready to be delivered".

Typical transport companies, they are all the same, railway closures throw them in turmoil with everyone on their backs for urgent/late deliveries, you are only small fry compared to the big companies demanding action.

Ain't that the truth. I shipped a classic from Minnesota to Long Beach CA with Montway Auto Transport. Communication was fine until I sent the money, then it was as if I'd contracted a ghost company. And when I rang them direct the "customer service" person was even more rude than the jerk I had dealings with in Primus here in OZ. In the end I told them to ef off and plastered my experience with them all over American classic car forums. |

I just got a DHL package (a complete flywheel) from a town in England to Perth, WA. Ordered it on Monday, got an email saying it had been sent on Tuesday, arrived Sunday.

I'd probably lay money on a future post from you being that the vehicle was damaged in transport and that they don't admit it ... Condolences. |
