I expect it will be bought up by Chinese or similar overseas interests and go offshore: http://www.graysonline.com/sale/8005...-c8142c7e8582}

G'day , My very first car at age 18, Morris Mini 1100 built in 1969 had a set of ROH wheels and an 8 Ball on the gearstick. I thought I was made with a set of ROH's..That was 39 years ago..Bloody sad to see yet another Aussie motoring icon go up for sale.. Cheers Rod..

I find the thread title misleading- I think they're selling plant but still in business from what I can see?

Its all such a shame, I was talking with a supplier to Toyota and Ford just a few days ago, asking, these decisions to shutdown were made when the dollar was over $1 US, now its 70 to 80c, couldnt toyota have changed their mind? He said its really up to suppliers, as they couldnt supply such low volumes. Said after Ford stopped, just Toyotas volume wasnt enough more many suppliers. Sad case.

Such a waste. The useless country....

Damn shame, yet another manufacturing capability we are going to lose.
Worth remembering Carbon Revolution in Geelong that are proving that there can still be innovative auto manufacturing in Australia.

Only 3 months to go until Holden and Toyota shut down.

Wonder where all the Broadmeadows workers have gone?

You've lived for more than 200 years . Holden was way ahead of their game making cars back in 1817.

Why would you keep a business like that open when power costs have increased well over and above what could be considered reasonable?

Have a rellie who works in there, Holden havnt supported them for years. Most of their wheels come out of China. Pretty sure it was only toyota using them.
