Tried uploading this to another thread, to no avail. Performance hampered by restrictive LPG mixer and overall condition of vehicle, but good for a laugh.

Was'nt designed to break 0-100 times.
A good AU i6 on LPG will easily do 500,000k's or more if driven and serviced properly and save quite alot on fuel costs also which helps pay for reg/insurance/maintenance. No wonder the taxi co's loved them! Last edited by GASWAGON; 02-08-2017 at 04:53 PM. |

I think with the diff ratio in these ... and no rev cut .... you could achieve 100km/h in first gear in these.
May or may not have tried this in my old AUII EGAS ute .... and BFII EGAS ute Love the one-tyre fire from it .... LOL

G'day , In 1976 the Jaguar XJC 4.2 litre used to do 0-60 in the 9's and that was considered pretty good according to Wheeler Dealers I was watching the other night. Pretty quick for the time . A bit over two decades on I think the petrol AU was quoted at 8.2 seconds to 0-100 which would be about 62 mph with the 4.0 SOHC donk.
These are interesting vids .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fH3z...?v=fH3zl3Aclj0 The first one was a dual fuel example running on petrol , it wasn't full throttle by any means but check the odometer for the real reason why so many of us love the dear old AU . 712,850 reasons why is that. This one was the AU XR6 VCT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jck3WI3PKUk . Not too shabby really. There was a AU as a taxi that was up over 650 , 000 when they retired it. The bloke who bought it , a former taxi driver has so far added another 300,000 and apparently she's still going strong as of not too long ago. The V8's are awesome , the Barra sixes are too but so many of us know just how darn amazing the SOHC 4.0 is when it comes to longevity and reliability. Cheers Rod.
