Cheers

It should come up with something, even if it is just basics like powertrain configuration and colour. FOr examply my XG ute gets a return on ETIS, basic info but its there.

PLEASE DON"T BE ALARMED - I MAY BE WRONG!!!

I believe that it is 'surrogate' VIN number. This could mean two things the part where the chassis?VIN number was/is, was replaced or something happened to the vehicle requiring it to be given another chassis/VIN number.

That's not a VIN number. A VIN has 17 letters and numbers.

Your missing JG for built in broadmeadows
What is the engine number?
Has the engine number got 0055 as the numbers?
If you add 6FPAAAJG = the engine number this equals the VIN

SY is the build date - S=1995 Y=June
For a sedan it is - SW
For a wagon it is - WA
For a Fairlane or Ltd it is - LW
For a Ute or Panel Van is - CM

I would predict your VIN number is 6FPAAA SY-0050

6FPAAAJGLWSY-0050 but your missing a number where the dash is
Ok just checked the 10 vic numbers above with filling in the dash with 0 - 9 and nothing

what is your engine number?

Also you can find the VIN on any panel of the car - they are all stamped - is it the same?
Doors, Boot, Bonnet etc etc

Are you referring to the OP or my post?

If so....

Yeah, just re-read my post. You got me. I normally am aware of that as well.

Can I give an excuse? I was referring to chassis numbers as well.

Exactly - it's a VIN, or a Vehicle Identification Number. It's not a VIN number.

Yeah, being pedantic, I know.

My NB Fairlane isn't there either 6FPAAAJG63KR31*** I have numbers for the ***. I guess being a prototype unofficial model I shouldn't be shocked.

The ETIS site isn't working at the moment so I tried a different site that was meant to search aussie VINs. It tells me that the XH XR6 ute that I just bought is actually a ford meteor from the US. lol
