"Complaints from the LGBTI community have led to a move by transport bureaucrats which will see gender removed from all Queensland driver’s licences.
Queensland licences have also historically displayed the driver’s height, as well as hair and eye colour, but these details will also be scrapped under moves confirmed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). According to a report in The Courier Mail, a leaked document from the Department said that “TMR has received complaints and suggestions from members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex community about displaying gender/sex (M or F) on TMR cards.” There had also been complaints about how other personal and identifying details were being captured on Queensland’s driver’s licences. “TMR has received feedback that the collection of personal information (eye and hair colour, complexion, height) may be perceived as discriminatory by some members of the community,” the document said. A spokesperson for Roads Minister Mark Bailey told The Courier Mail that the main reason for the change was federal anti-discrimination laws and improvements in technology that meant the data was not needed to identify someone. (My comment : just an excuse for political correctness.) While new driver’s licence applications still require Queensland drivers to nominate their gender when they apply for a licence, the details are no longer shown on the card. The driver’s height has been removed entirely from the application and no longer appears on the card." https://startsat60.com/news/gender-s...ivers-licences

Mercury Bullet no I didnt
"Complaints from the LGBTI community have led to a move by transport bureaucrats which will see gender removed from all 2Queensland driver’s licences." And QGov is using anti-discriminationlaws as an excuse to bring it in. LGBTI asked for it. Upside is no more malevfemale drivers comments.

Don't know exactly how long it's been
but gender is not printed on South Australian or Victorian licence cards either. |

Once a complaint has been made the government (doesn't matter which side) is bound by laws. Not a great idea to break them. Fwiw I have zero idea who wrote the federal laws but they are there. Direct your anger at the right people!

I have a truck licence so I'm not sure if that national thing still applies but it's issued and headed as a wa licence. It contains my address and date of birth, licence class (mc) nothing more.

I think when I next renew my license, I'll have to lodge a complaint because Qld Transport no longer acknowledges that I'm a man.....

Who cares?
How does recording that on a licence help anyone or anything? In fact, as a piece of identification, it probably confuses things. If someone identifies as a woman but was born a man, chances are in person and in their photo, they look like a woman. Now I know sometimes you can still tell, but I know at least one person who is now a woman, and I've never met anyone who could pick it. |

I'm too old for this sh%t , way too many people offended by stuff.. fullstop.
imagine trying to describe someone, "oh well, it was a man... oops sorry , a person, looked to be white.. oops , sorry.... um they were so high.. oops , had hair.... ' wonder if we can be offended by getting infringement notices... and have them cancelled because of the trauma it causes us

You want to know the really funny thing?
As much as the Courier Mail (a tabloid with the journalistic integrity of a skid mark after an off curry) wrote an article about how this change is coming up... this change happened 2 years ago. And until now, nobody gave a toss. |

I just checked my NSW driver’s licence and it doesn’t include gender in the details.

Who really cares though? I mean REALLY cares?
Sure some are outraged about the pc bullocks, but really it affects absolutely no one in any negative way. It's just the media riling up the natives and creating lots of nice little clicks for their social media accounts. People need to get over themselves and stop being so outraged for the sake of being outraged. |
