Default Where would you get a good second hand lcd/led tv for a good price

Hi everyone

was just wondering where would you get a good secondhand lcd/led tv for a really good price from other than ebay where you pay so much for postage or a hand me down from someone upgrading to bigger.

often bjs auctions in adelaide have one when they’re on but every time you put a bid on someone else always puts more than you want to pay so you never win. Last time there was a 32 inch and it went for $85 and time before there was one and it went for $70. The bid just seems to go up and up every time and if it goes up much more you may as well get a new cheap one at target.

cash converters want a fair bit for theirs.

how would you find someone with a hand me down one because of upgrading to bigger ones, it’s no point giving someone money to buy a new one so you can have their old hand me down as the money you give them you may as well buy a new one for yourself.

can anyone think of somewhere not to expensive to get a good secondhand lcd/led one.

what could be done to make it easier.

want one for shed, one for another area and eventually one for another area.

what would you be better off doing. Would you be better off buying a new one on sale with warranty.

cant afford to spend more than really have to but need it to last at same time.

thanks for any help

Haggle at Cash Converters for the ones that have been there a while. You can tell when the original price sticker has been covered over several times with price changes.

Or go to Aldi and buy this:

Would you be better off buying new and how would you afford that extra $100 or so ontop of secondhand or get a cheaper price at shop

How would you get someone’s old one that still works that they only upsized

Bjs auctions the bid just goes up every time and some family got bigger one and old one still works apart from that line and has now donated it to charity and don’t want to pay much for it and don’t know how much they’ll put on it

Would you be better off paying a few hundred for a new one even though you can’t really afford to, and make yourself afford to, how would you do it when you have other things to get as well.

There's always a risk with 2nd hand ones. Many of the faults with them don't become apparent until it's been on for some time, and become heat soaked. So whilst it might pass a switch on test, and 5 minutes of viewing, you may find 1/2 hour into your Home & Away marathon that it starts to go funny.

You really need to define your budget. If you can afford the $350 for the Aldi one, then go buy it - you will have a warranty, and they are good with warranty stuff if you keep the receipt.

But if your budget is any less, either downsize the screen you want to suit your buidget, or buy 2nd hand. Stick to known brands 2nd hand. For example, I've had 2 Sony LCDs that haven't had any issues, but friends who have bought cheap brands have had several failures in that time - so be wary of buying someone elses problem 2nd hand.

This. My grandmother just went into a nursing home and we offloaded all her unsentimental stuff she didn't want on Swap n Sell cheap. White goods, dvd, etc. We sold the 42" 6 month old flat screen for $100. They pop up all the time in my area.

Kogan.com.au

I just bought a cheapy LCD for the bedroom. I couldn't find anywhere local that could beat their prices (including the delivery costs). And it arrived super fast at my front door.

Try Soniq.com I bought a refurbished tv from them a while ago for the man cave. Not a mark on it and works perfectly.

You could always put an add on Gumtree etc, asking if anyone will swap a couple of E-series Falcons for one.

Where are you champ??
Depending on where you live (Adelaide or Melbourne for instance) at the end of the "Clipsal" or F1, the TVs they use in the Corporate Boxes usually end up in clearance shops for a couple of hundred off. They are usually advertised in the papers.

If you try gumtree make sure you get the seller to show you it works before you buy it etc. Sometimes Tv's that are on the way out only play up once they start heating up.

Make sure you have a clear understanding about the difference between the two & what seperates good ones from ok ones. Ask a sales person at any of those big stores to demonstrate these differences, see what affects what you like to watch the most & buy within your budget. I would go for quality over screen sizes though.

If you are in Brisbane (though it looks like maybe your not) I need to get rid of my 3 year old 60" LED TV... I impulse purchased a nice 75" Bravia and have no further need for it... Only thing is I threw the TV Stand out as it was always mounted... Otherwise as others have said, Facebook Buy/Sell is pretty good, I got rid of ur old phones and some household stuff we didn't need after our move and it was a good experience...

Checked out the reviews for Aldi, Bauhn TVs last week, Most reviewers rated them as "terrible", many broke down or started to fail in a few weeks, you'd be mad to buy one. Makes like Sony or LG were the opposite, receiving mainly "excellent" ratings"

Aldi have “good”’warranty on their products . No
Issue giving you another exchange one . In things we’ve had issues with .
