SA: Focus recall to have no impact in Australia
ADELAIDE, Feb 7 AAP - A recall of more than 350,000 Ford cars in the United States would not have any impact in Australia, the company said today. The Ford Motor Company said it would recall almost 359,000 Focus cars because of a problem with a rear door which could open while the car was being driven, creating a safety risk. "If not latched properly, the door may open while the vehicle is in motion," the recall announcement said. But Ford Australia public affairs manager Sinead McAlary said the recall would not affect Focus cars sold in Australia. She said the Focus vehicles sold locally were built in Europe and were not included in the recall. "The recall is related to a plant production problem in the United States so has no impact on the cars sold in Australia," she said. Last year, Ford Australia sold more than 12,500 Focus cars making it the company's third most popular model behind the Falcon and the Falcon Ute. AAP tjd/nl/sd

thankgod for that...the last thing needed here is a recall!
I hope we stop importing US stuff all together, I still dont know why the explorer is here now (V8 option maybe?) because the territory is eating everything in its path.

next thing you know Harold Scruby will demand a recall on all cars with engines because when running, the vehicles may break the speed limit.
