Unfortunately the 12s for $1200 car didn’t make it because we had to prioritise. But the project doesn’t really have a deadline. It'll happen when it happens.
The taxi did awesome on Friday night despite a late start. Saturday wasn't quite as good because of a blown intercooler pipe which we didn't discover straight away, and then the trans started to suffer with heat issues. Thanks to everyone who came up and had a chat. |

I doubt it as the ZF 6 spd has its own controller and the ECU would need to be changed.
Surely manual shifting right at the top of the power curve would give the best results? Twin injectors and more boost is going to be great. Should fill up at Supagas with 100% Propane for max power. |

Episode 9 just out.
Watch what Blown VN does to the block lol. The Taxi won't be making it to Drag week cos he stacked it!!! Taking it to show up the yanks would have been awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_LR...J8PMSfADlXGXz6 |

Too much car, not enough driver? Let me guess, it kicked back and it all went pear shaped....I wonder if the turbo taxi has DCS like the normal FG's, I haven't been following the progress of the build so don't know. Nevertheless, I have upmost respect for my car in rain and won't even entertain it kicking back a couple of gears with the power it has.
I hope they're able to get it repaired and back on the road. And it needs more grunt, it sounds too lethargic imo.

At least they put the LPG bottom end with stronger rods and swapped all the good parts onto the new engine. As he said the weather was really bad and they wer'nt speeding either + it has stock taxi wheels and tyres. Really hope they can fix it back up ASAP and hopefully get 10's out of it. |

He was man enought to admit human error, and accept the result - unlike so many others who would claim a 'roo, dog, or another driver who mysteriously took off.
I have a lot of time for Scotty - he does realistic stuff, on a working man's budget, that we can all take inspiration from (OK, he does get some gratuity from sponsors & the like, but it's not a chequebook build). The taxi was originally an eGas with a 4 speed BTR, and they don't have stability control in them. It wasn't fitted to LPG FGs until the LPi was released, with the ZF 6 speed. I don't think the shell will be economical to bend back into shape, but having all the good bits on it, which don't appear to have been damaged, it wouldn't be too expensive to find another cheap cab & transfer it all - especially if he can get the use of a workshop & hoist over a weekend. I hope it makes a return. I've been enjoying the series. |

I reckon it now looks like a proper Melbourne taxi. Good job.
Glad nobody was hurt, that's the main thing.

I hope he was wearing a respirator or at least one of the better masks when spraying that head gasket. We spray copper head gaskets with hylomar. You are not supposed to inhale that stuff.

Straight LPG and NW Victoria. I had to interrupt a mate mid BBQ to bring his gas bottle to me so I could get to the servo. I was real popular. I now carry a spare 9L swap n go.

Yeah but we are Australia so we are one of only a few places that let you cut mdf without a dust mask on because of cancer. We do have pretty tight rules on asbestos though I hate the smell of asbestos.....

Glad to see they’ve got it back on the road.
Interesting to see the combo it’s got, the GTX3582R is waaaaay to big for the boost it’s currently running; they’d have been better off with a 3576 to build boost quicker, or, change the converter. The car sounds lethargic off the line. Anyways, will be good to watch the next episode with the additional injectors and more boost.

That was quite a bit of work but thank god they saved it!
Could'nt believe it broke the engine mounts! Looking like it's ready for some more mods and faster times now! |
