Hi-I am restoring a Mk1 V6 Capri. I have managed to get 2 reasonable chrome strips that are attached to each side sill. I don't have the clips that attach the moulding to the sill. The English Capris have a different side trim so no help there. Has anyone found a clip that can be used.

I used steel ones from rare spares - just knocked them down to size

From memory I took the plastic ones down - which they couldn't match, and used steel ones with a thread - I had to drill small holes in the inner sills to access the nuts - there was one on the back quarter I couldn't get to |

Thanks for the fast response. I will chase them up now. The car is nearly complete after a 3 year nut and bolt restoration-its the small bits that are irritating!!

Clips seem to change from 71-72. 1971 cars had a metal clip the 1972 cars had a plastic clip. I’m unsure if the metal sill trim changed or just the clip. Our cars had the same style sill trim as XW orXY Falcon station wagons so clips for those cars should work for our Capris.

Thanks. I ended up using plastic ones I obtained from Goughie in the UK. Trim is now on.
