Have a happy and safe day as you overindulge with your loved ones. Just don't forget to invite the 'birthday boy' into your home as you celebrate His birthday.

Yep, Merry Xmas to all, and not Happy Holidays.
Have received a few Happy Holidays from businesses and sent them back a a rather pointed Merry Xmas message, not bloody Happy Holidays. Anyway, back to more food and drink, cheers all.

A Very PC Celebration
At this time of the year it’s difficult to know what to say without offending someone. So I’ve checked with my legal adviser and on his advice I wish to say the following to all friends and colleagues. Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practised with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practise religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2019, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that Great Britain is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee. By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher. Disclaimer: No trees were harmed in the sending of this message; however, a significant number of electrons were slightly inconvenienced |

My family lunch went well, and what i bought for my mum was well received and quite the conversation starter. My mum is an avid gardener and she wanted some native bush but when i was plant shopping with my son we couldnt find one. So we bought her a pineapple plant with a pineapple growing on it. She was not expecting that for her fruit and veg garden, in a good way. The 2 kickers is 1stly i dropped stuff off at my grandparents on sunday and yesterday, all the really old people in the retirement village my really old grandparents live in all go visiting their really old friends to drop off cards etc and having a pineapple plant in the livingroom creates a lot of conversation which my grandpa likes. And second, my mum got really excited when i said to her when its ripe orginise a family bbq and we will do ham steaks with bbq pineapple. She likes any excuse to get the family together.

I mentioned in another thread about struggling to mentally digest everything that this time of the year tends throws at you. But at the end of the day, Christmas makes you focus on what you have too be thankful for in life and too take nothing for granted. And if all else fails, eat more chocolate and Christmas pudding. Chocolate fixes EVERYTHING. That and cake. And coffee. And.........
Best Wishes to all of the many valued contributors of Ford Forums. You know who you are
