Thumbs up LAKESIDE Performance Driver day

Total Driver have secured Lakeside for half a day on Monday 27 March, I don't know prices or times but this is a magic track to drive on, it leaves Qld raceway for dead.

Anyone interested please call Gene Total Driver 0421 834 725.

I don't have any work for Mon afternoon so I will be there
My fav track have some great memories
The other point is the more successful such ventures are the greater the likelyhood of the track getting more use, Would be great for the club, A whole lot closer than Morgan Park and much better than Qld Raceway

Lakeside is a great track, But the biggest problem about the track is the track condition. The owner/s no longer look after the track it self, and it is know like a old country road (dodgy patch work) and the track is slippery because it has not be recovered in the last 8 years or so....

As for Total Driver, $165 for the 1/2 day is good value if you can afford it. The amount of information you will get out of it will make you a better driver on the road and a faster driver on the track,,,, 99% of drivers think they are both. But in reality there are only about 5% that are good and fast drivers........ I intend on doing the Total Driver course, You can never get enough driver and Hi-performance education , IMO.

Yes spectating is allowed, and from what i understand there may be a few things worthy of looking at, But of course nobody is admitting to anything, but the rumours of a V8 supercar in the making is in it self a reason to attend

The rules are:

Post 2000 build. (brakes & handling)
No modded exhausts (noise factor)

This is a "trial" run on the track. The local council required these restrictions and to flaunt them would be a bit silly as they will not allow it to happen again.

See yas all there.......

Drew, you have to go just in case you get a run,and Lissa and I need big people to talk to without having to watch after Mitch. With no modded exhausts and guess the v8 supercar won't be there.

Just got back from a morning out at Lakeside Raceway after a special invitation from Total Driver, a big thankyou to Gene & the boy's. After a bit of checking of all the cars tyres etc it was out on the track for two slow laps then four laps at your own speed and then one cool down lap. The morning session was split into two groups,BMW's, Porches & one FPV ute. I had about six sessions in my ute which was great as the track even though it has not been used for some time was still in pretty good condition. Gene had his xr8 out there lapping everyone while given people some hot laps, we even had a bloke come out from the council due to locals complaining about some noise out at the track which was knocked on the head after he had stayed there and listened for a while and was satisfied with what he heard right next to the cars as they drove passed. Again thanks to Gene and the Total Driver crew for the morning and we wish them all the success with there submission for development of this great track.

Tell them to take out there hearing aids for a few hours or tell them there pension payments have come early....

Noise? What noise?

Default Noise is a part of life No noise NO life

Noise is a part of life No noise NO life

I was out in the afternoon session, biggest noise was from the tyres, If that's too loud then who ever is complaining is way too old.

Interesting on that note was the patch of a different Bitumen in Eastern Loop that really squealed, Luckily it was only short.

Was a great afternoon casual but informative and got to drive on the best track in Aus.

Again many thanks to the TOTAL DRIVER team who were excellent and friendly.

Geeze bloody complainers what was there first the track (about 1960) or the development (80's), the golf club with the yahooing is louder than the cars and the railway generated more noise when the freighters roar on past.
I wish the pi$$ant residents near the place would grow a life and pull their head out of their a$$es , some one around there must have some pull with the PRSC to have a ranger out there that quick ing_sm - damn kill joys - I am glad the ranger decided to leave you alone.

And an awsome camera too, kind of envious of any thing that long

Yes certainly awsome photos

We should set up a separate Photobucket account and circulate the password among ourselves that way we can all post our pics and no one else can see them, Just a thought.

Thumbs up

Hi All,

**Copy from my post in The Pub**

We'd certainly like to thank the members of the Forum who came to our track day at Lakeside on Monday. It was great to meet you all.

We were stoked that it all went off without a hitch.

We'd also like to offer the driver of the GT a full time job as the official track Slasher. He did a fantastic job in keeping the grass around Hungry Corner nice and low for us.

Also, give me a call sometime on 1300 887 352. I have your ROH Centre Cap which flew off by itself earlier in the session.

Once again, thank you so much for coming along. I'm sure you'll agree with me in saying it's a wonderful track to drive on, even in it's poor condition and we look forward to many more Lakeside track days to come!

Cheers,
