Default Import drama to avoid

I wanted to share my experience buying from www.discoveryclassiccars.net since they have no ability to leave a review...you'll probably understand why by the time you read the end of this.

I agreed to purchase a lincoln continential and have the drivers seat reapolstered. I was told the car would take 8weeks max to arrive. After 16 weeks I sent the proprietor a text message that was returned by an abusive phone call (f's and all included) and threats to damage the car (keying capital letters on the bonnet)before sending it.

I finally received the car 7 months later and not in the same condition it was described. There was rust on the bonnet that wasn't clearly shown in the photos. There was a severe fuel leak, the jack was missing, the passenger door lock didn't function, the seats didn't function and had major oil leaks (that's all I've found so far)and* after leaving a review on the facebook page I was threatened with legal action if I didn't remove my comments and the page was taken down.

After complaining to better business breau in the states I was bombarded with false statements with no proof. If anyone would like to see these emails and screenshots of messages and texts feel free to email me or if you would like more details on my experience.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and feel free to share to save someone else the pain

Mate, you’re not going to get much traction unless you clarify the gripe a bit more.

Where was the car being sold, and where are you?

The car was being sold on his website above. It's in california. I'm located in Perth WA.

My main gripe is that the car was falsely advertised. I was threatened to have it damaged further and since speaking to people I've heard other stories where I've got of light in comparison

Good, that makes more sense of it. Your first posting could have almost put you anywhere on the globe.

Anyway, Lincoln is more or less a Ford, so you’re stuck here now. Hope you can get it on the road and enjoy owning it. Maybe avoid driving past grassy knolls.

I can see why you'd be mad. There is literally no reason to think you were taking any sort of risk whatsoever.

I should have specified others who bought cars from www.discoveryclassiccars.net the guy supposedly lived in Perth and seemed genuine till I questioned him. I've also been told to check the floor pans matching vins etc so you get the idea. Also all the reviews on his website i would seriously question knowing what I know now
