I read in a car magazine that Peter Brocks Monaro was expected to go for between $500,000 and 1 million dollars.

Chairman's Award: Chairman's Award - Issue reason: Your outstanding contributions to this community have not gone unnoticed. IN my view you are a worthy recipient of the (rarely used) Chairman's Award.

Did any of you guys read the link in post #28 ?

It is alleged that this car has had 2 re-bodies in its lifetime & that the plates are as dodgy as.

It has a Sydney factory VIN plate, a Melbourne factory Body ID plate (which says the car is painted Black) & has an Adelaide chassis number. Many of the numbers don't read as they should either.

It was well known that all of Harry Firth's 1969 Bathurst HTs were built & assembled in Melbourne.

The other issue as I see it, is that of the CAMS log book. When this car was raced at Bathurst in 1969 it didn't have CAMS log book, because the race was run under ARDC rules. The CAMS log book came later, probably after the first re-body.

It's very much a "Grandfather's axe", but how much of it remains ? Certainly not the body or the ID plates !
