Default AU 5L 5 spd ute. How many?

Just curious how many of these were made.

Not an XR but a bog stock base model AU ute with a windsor and a 5 speed.

I ask because one just popped up on my facefart news feed, offered for sale locally in Pt Lincoln for just over $3k. It's got a tray top and looks straight and clean...... oh, and it looks factory black.

Why have you not bought it yet? What a lovely car!

If I bought every nice car that came up I'd be so broke ,lol. Last week there was a 78 XC GXL update, 302, Tbar, runner. Week before that, 76 XC povo pack auto, runner saved from Glendambo, so dry climate, $4500. Week before was a HR Special sedan survivor, etc, etc. none of which, although nice, would drive me to sell my youngest to own. If, however, I come across a factory HQ 253, 4spd Kingswood, my youngest might want to start locking his door.

Yeah, I had an AU XLS one for a couple of years early on. Bought it new, had to wait for it to be built with the manual. As a consolation for waiting, they painted it in red for me. Red wasn't an option on the XLS at the time, only on XR but apparently was a couple of months later..... Was such a nice car, the Service Manager bought it when I traded it for a SRS 2 XR.
