If I want a Ranger or a Mustang ....

The Mach E is an interesting one. FoA have not said anything about the possibility of it coming here, even though it is available in RHD and will be sold in Europe.

Price will be one factor, it won't be cheap. And then there is the reluctance of people in this country to consider EV's. They only make up less than 0.5% of sales.

I reckon they should give it a go here though. Get in early and build a following. Rather than wait till EV's are more widely accepted and be a late entry.

Maybe they will see how the PHEV Escape goes first?

Agreed, would be great to see it here.
The other issue here in Australia is government policy around EVs and other powered cars outside of fossil fuels. For EVs we need to really get the government in there to set a standard for charging and may be subsidise the rollout of charging stations.

Yes the lack of government incentives to buy an EV that other countries get ,is also a factor.

In Europe, the US and I think China the government gives you a rebate for buying one.

The first year production is limited to 50,000 and most of those are already gone.
Until Ford gets increased battery supply, there's no chance of us seeing Mach E.

Yay for Government incentives. They will give me back some of my money they took from somewhere else so I can buy an EV.

Maybe that had an affect too.

Most EV's in Australia attract a luxury car tax.

that's just dandy...should keep sales down nicely.

Not really. Only the Teslas but the base model 3 doesn't attract the tax. Think the BMW might get a little LCT with the new threshold of $77k (up from $75k).

The Hyundai's, Renault, Nissan, etc, are all under the LCT threshold.
