Default The Next Chicken Coupe?

Mk1 Escort Twin cam, the next chicken coupe off the block?
https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/coll...dan/1253874373
You'd be brave to take this one on, but its all there and at the asking price you'd probably re-coup (lol) your money on the air cleaner, rocker cover and dash alone.
If the numbers match and it is one of the motorsport allotment cars its significant piece. Bit sad to see it like that really.

Background appears to be a garbage tip. (er for the PC brigade, refuge centre.)

PS nice example of the air inlet piping mentioned in a earlier thread BTW.

Looks like a Council Depot or something similar to me.

A bit of tyre black to improve its presentation wouldn't have hurt.

maybe its the grille and rare headlight treatment.

Funny place to advertise it being gumtree, a fixed priced classifies platform.

i think if it was presented or "pitched" a different way, possibly more value adding.
ie, stick it in an old shed and advertise "Barn find, performance lotus escort".

Not quite but if they're factory green tint that I think this model had theres $1000 in them.
I've been doing the sums on it as a parts, car although its a shame, if the minilights are gen 70's theres $1000, 140mph six dial dash $1000, airbox and snorkel $1500, Lotus rocker cover $500. Then theres all the other twin cam specific bits, Lotus head, carbs, seats, grille and lamps, gearbox etc that if were servicable would all fetch some coin. Even the plastic plenum drain for this model gets a few hundred dollars.

It does seem like an odd place, it'd be snapped up on the UK market in a flash if they knew of it. This is the GTHO to them and I've seen them fix worse.

What's everyone's list that can be 'cooped' today (definition: buy as worn out/near wrecking at about $500) and then put out to pasture with the animals for 20 years, then onsold to restorers at 40x profit?

When I look back at what was wrecking in the early 90's, and today's prices for restorer condition (or even a bare shell in the case of LC/LJ two doors)

eg

40 AU1 XR6 VCT in a horse stable

Found new panels for it here.

I love the bubble arches, but would probably be wrong to fit bubbles on the Lotus version.

Or you could say that Colin Mcrae once sat in it and name your price
