Default how much oil in a 1990 2L 12v telstar 5sp gearbox.

hi,
ive got a telstar wagon and have just finished doing a gearbox transplant as my old one gave up the ghost after 415000kms.
i have it all done and have just finished bleeding the clutch and was wondering how much gear oil to put in?
i presume you put it in where the speedo cable goes in at the top? and was wondering how you know when you have enough in there?

any help would be greatly appreciated. :

Use the speedo gear as a dipstick, the oil should cover the teeth on the gear. Around 2.5 litres should do it.
