I suspect they're all manufacturing overseas hence the huge lead times.

Unfortunately I don't have suggestions but if they're quoting minimum order quantities or lead times such as 90-150+ days they're manufacturing overseas.

I sell and repair shock absorbers every day, and have tried almost every “specialist” spring manufacturer in Australia. I haven’t found one yet, that can consistently manufacture one off springs.

Those I have had made, are often 10 to 20% out in rate, and can also sag in a short time. I think that some manufacturers think that heat treatment is an expensive option.

These days I mostly sell Eibach springs. Rates are guaranteed to be within 3%, and they seem to last forever. I have some on my race car that are 15 years old, and they are within 2lbs of rating. Otherwise, I bring in springs via my shock manufacturer in the UK. They get them made in Germany, as they can’t find a suitable manufacturer in the UK.

Let me know what you want. I may have a solution.

The only springs I use on my road cars. For track/race I use Eibach, or H&R, depending on need.

"Hawke"...I realise that coil springs have many facets to their design.
Looking for a pair of linear springs that are approximately....
230-250 lb/in
Free height 280-300mm
Wire diameter 11-12 mm
Turns 8-10 [active coils 6-8]
Closed ground ends.

Eibach have a 9” (230mm) 250lb spring - 2.25” ID; or in 1.88” ID, 10” (254mm) 250 lb. Your price ex Sydney $360 a pair.

Or if you wish to wait till my next order comes in from the UK. $180 or $205 a pair respectively.

Eibach list a 10" 250lb spring in 3"ID. I'd have to get back to you on price and availability.

Unfortunately, my people in the UK dont list 3” springs. They only supply springs for normal coil overs, that are 1.88” or 2.25” ID.

Try Universal Springs. Hoxton Park NSW. May be able to make whatever you need.

Dobinson's Springs are made by Dobinson's Spring and Suspension in Rockhampton.

Some say made in Australia, and im sure some are, but ive seen little black factory writing on some of the, hmm lets call them yella ones, made for AU-BA, that looks exactly the same as the little black writing on some springs made abroad for GM cars (camaros) , and those springs for the GM cars claimed they were made in USA , not sure I quite buy that either.

Happy to be proven wrong but that is a bit suss, like they come from the same place, and get painted different colours to suit the buyers.
