I’d suggest you run new wire from the engine bay fuse box, and ground it on the chassis close to the socket point. Use the output from the EEC relay to provide a trigger for your new relay. That way it will go on when the car starts and turn off when you stop the motor.
Run your positive feed in well-supported split convoluted tubing on the right side of the chassis, to stay clear of the fuel lines. Fuse it before the relay. |

Do you need to run a lighter socket or is this your preference? Anderson plug will take more current.

OK, I’m not trying to be sarcastic but it’s worth having a read on Anderson plugs. They’re well known in the 4x/off-road crowd. It would be my choice.
Broadmeadows made basic provision for extra wiring, here’s where you put a 6mm eye on your cable and clamp it under the bolt head, above the existing eye: Overall location view. This cable is permanently live, so long as the battery is connected: Your eyelet goes to one side of the empty fuse position below. Fuse and relay female terminals are pretty much 1/4” spades with a locking tab. You withdraw the white inserts upwards before fitting the terminals from below, and refit after to secure the whole lot. Cable sizing reckoner is here, if you want to work it from scratch. Lengths of cable required are always longer than you think! http://www.enerdrive.com.au/wp-conte...able-Chart.pdf |
