I realise that this is not a propaganda forum or indeed a forum that propagates racism BUT: The leader of the free world Keeps you that .... Free! This particular President may portray himself as an idiot, but he has thousands of dedicated people who try to ensure he doesn't stuff up. Laugh all you like, but either him, or choose great leaders that decimate civilisations:
Mao Ze-Dong (China, 1958-61 and 1966-69) 49,000,000 ("great leap forward" and "cultural revolution") Jozef Stalin (USSR, 1934-39) 13,000,000 (the purges) Adolf Hitler (Germany, 1939-1945) 12,000,000 (concentration camps and civilians WWII) Hideki Tojo (Japan, 1941-44) 5,000,000 (civilians WWII) Pol Pot (Cambodia, 1975-79) 1,700,000 Kim Il Sung (North Korea, 1948-94) 1.6 million (purges and concentration camps) Menghitsu (Ethiopia, 1975-78) 1,500,000 Ismail Enver (Turkey, 1915) 1,200,000 Armenians Yakubu Gowon (Biafra, 1967-1970) 1,000,000 Leonid Brezhnev (Afghanistan, 1979-1982) 900,000 Jean Kambanda (Rwanda, 1994) 800,000 Suharto (East Timor, 1976-98) 600,000 Saddam Hussein (Iran 1980-1990 and Kurdistan 1987-88) 600,000 Yahya Khan (Pakistan, 1971) vs Bangladesh 500,000 Savimbi (Angola, 1975-2002) 400,000 Mullah Omar - Taliban (Afghanistan, 1986-2001) 400,000 Idi Amin (Uganda, 1969-1979) 300,000 Benito Mussolini (Ethiopia, 1936; Yugoslavia, WWII) 300,000 Mobutu Sese Seko (Zaire, 1965-97) ? Charles Taylor (Liberia, 1989-1996) 220,000 Foday Sankoh (Sierra Leone, 1991-2000) 200,000 Slobodan Milosevic (Yugoslavia, 1992-96) 180,000 Michel Micombero (Burundi, 1972) 150,000 Hassan Turabi (Sudan, 1989-1999) 100,000 |

falcon91 yes America does help us stay free, sort of. Nothing like those figures you've quoted I guess, but how many native Americans were wiped out setting up the land of the free. How many Chileans were killed when America set up Pinochet? Central America? Vietnam? It comes at a price called global(American)isation. Their Presidents might be a couple of sixpacks short of a slab but there's plenty of focussed effort there on ensuring the world follows one path, whether they voted for it or not. You are free - to vote for an wide choice of right wing parties. But if you start slipping too far to the left just watch out.

America has a history of manipulating leaders in foreign countries to suit thier needs. When it all goes wrong people suffer.
do you think he portrays himself as an idiot on purpose. Doubt it When you add religion to the mix. look out. Anyway i dont want to offend anyone with the above, just my opinion, but at least his speaches are amusing. |

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust." And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! Therefore endeth my first lesson! Except for one final epitath: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" Left wing tree hugging troglodites will be the first humans to cry for help!! There endeth the lesson. Well my opinion anyway. Feel free to express your own wrong one! |

OK so everyone's had a laugh at George W's expense... hell, ive even got the 'bushisms' desktop calendar here at work. Plenty of anti bush sentiments due to his conduct regarding the middle east - but that's not new for a president of the united states.
But has anyone actually sat down and watched him deal with a press conference (outside of the amusing bits where he gets his words tangled up) ?? I sat and watched him for about 1 hour one lonely evening on Fox news. And i gotta say i was fairly impressed. Move him away from issues of the middle east - see him field questions on healthcare, the economy etc. and you'll probably be suprised (or if you really dont like him - you'll probably be horrified that he actually knows his stuff). There is more to the bush administration than the war in iraq. But i guess issues like that dont really give the left an opportunity to mount their high horse. And at the end of the day - he's not our president. Lol - i would love to see the people on AFF if a group of americans started pulling strips off of the australian government. Hang on... knowing you guys, you'd probably just join in
