Looking good there. Now you just need to hook it up to a ZF 6 speed! :

Tidy work mate! The BF shifter is impressive. A ZF under it would be REALLY impressive.

That looks 10x better then the BA one jase, looks alot more flush with the car being black and the Ea dash having black inserts.

Did it hook up the exact same way?

Love it!

I'd still change the vinyl under it for a darker colour... then again I can't talk coz my gearboot is still that light vinyl that u saw at AFD :(

I'll take two guesses at how you went about doing this:

1) Adapting ZF fascia to BA housing

or

2) Swapping everything BA (including shifter cable?) with ZF stuff...

Looks mint mate

BA cable + BF 6 speed shifter complete = straight bolt in.

The electronics however need a small adjustment as the output signals have changed.

Hmm, looking at the BF shifter knob, it looks just like a BA one but with an extra grip insert over the "brushed aluminium" bit. Is that the case? Is it dimensionally the same?

I won't copy you with that mate :P Even though it looks better ;)

Kinda looks like Mr T :MrT_anim:

Mad! So since it's a straight bolt in, I assume its 4 bolt points are the same as the BA one?

Hrm I should get someone to host the BA shifter installation file I made aaages ago, as I updated it recently. This thread will surely spark some interest for those who want a BA/BF shifter in their E-Series

Looks the same, but its not

The BF is shorter, uses a metal shaft which is smaller then the BA, goes back to push down design, not pull up, the button you push in is smaller to.

All in all not a swapable idea, and possible to fit on a normal 4 speed shifter either, i have checked.

Ahh ok.

Push-down sounds interesting... So someone with an ordinary EA-EL auto housing/shaft could possibly put a BF knob on?

Looks great Jason. Looks heaps nicer than the BA as well. The EF/EL steering wheel looks good too, but is it just me or is your glovebox the wrong colour for the dash?

The glovebox has been covered to match the gearshift section.

OK. Are you going to do the rest of the lower dash to suit? That would look really good.
