Default XF T5's and E-series box's

hi all

time to set some thing's strait

ok well i'v heard from some ppl that EB2 box's are stronger and have a longer first gear ther for less strain on the box

and EA T5's ante as strong due to they'r short first gear ther for more strain on the box (housing) and thay'r more prone to craking

but i was told that XF thru to EL are the same :P
beside's the EL shifter stork
i was deffending the point that it change'd EB2 onward's

but he was very reluctant and sure thay are the same:P

so some clarification would b great

a ea has a shorter first gear than eb onward

I understand that EF onwards has synchro on reverse too. They are certainly not all the same from EA-EL.

Cannot be swapped. There are 22tooth 10 spline in XF-EF, 23 tooth 10 spline in EB-EF, 23 tooth high helix 10 spline in EF-AU, 23 tooth 23 spline high helix in BA, 24tooth 10 spline in EB-EL, 24 tooth 10 spline in AU, 24 tooth 23 spline in BA. There are also length variations. BA T5 will not fit in '97 model anyway. Ben.
