is there a way to test them? cause i had sorta low oil pressure before mine blew and i'm not sure if it was the mains or the pump.

faulty rocker gear will cause a lack in oil pressure(a threaded rocker bolt was the death of my motor.. no oil pressure)

So if your rocker gear was making noises as u stated in another post, maybe that could cause some loss in pressure.

Damo, lol In my EF i didnt even have the oil light come on but it would occasionally flicker at idle. So yeh, you think its not too bad just something to look at, and then she just stopped lol That motors bottom end siezed pretty quick lol

Pete, what exactly blew on yours mate? was it bottom end related?

nah. when i got it 2 yrs ago it was a bit low on oil pressure, i think at about 2000rpm it sat at 2-3 on the guage and only moved a bit when it was at higher revs. the cause of the ИИИИed motor was one bolt! the bolt that bolts the top sproket to the cam snapped. so yeah me and the old man are pretty sure the pump was a bit sad or the mains were a bit worn. but that rocker gear was a good one. i don't no much about these motors but i'm guessing the oil goes up though the mountings for the rocker gear? and cause yours was a bit loose it was just running out in turn lossing oil pressure? i might have a look at me bolts tomorrow but they seemmed tight when i undid them.
