Price will be interesting but you have to laugh with the "all original" tag when the interior has been changed from black to white. That must mean it's not purely original.

Even the vid in the link below finishes with all original but it's great to see that these puppies are still being located.

any manual shaker these days will generally pull north of 200k. this car should be no exception with plenty of provenance. few things that are easily corrected and as stated above it looks as though it will clean up well. requires purchaser with a reasonable skill set to do as much as possible themselves however otherwise potentially paying too much in this climate of smoke and mirrors in the process referred to as auction...like it a lot

I noticed in a recent video of the car that the front door trims had the fairmont insignia on them , so if dealer fit they may have swapped trim from a fairmont.

Nah, this one has a different front tyre, bad RH bumper chroming and bumperettes.

i thought it would push past the 200k mark but 376k if you include a buyers premium is dead set unbelievable. to think a highly regarded one owner fully roadgoing unrestored xygt with all the provenance you would ever want and more has recently changed hands for very similiar money. the yellow ochre car will probably need 20 to 30k thrown at it to get it safely running. crazy times!

I was told recently that its the Baby Boomers that are driving up these prices due to nostalgia. They may have had these cars when they were younger and want to relive the experience of ownership.

When they all die out these cars may become less of an interest to the generations that follow.

But again, we as enthusiasts buy these cars to enjoy and not necessary concern ourselves with the value.

Its these "money is not an issue" people driving prices up.

There will always be collector cars but its getting ridiculous now.

Perhaps its another crypto type boom>bust waiting to happen?

The ones who buy these cars as you say are " baby boomers" but they dident own em when young, most were bringing up young families and buying houses, for homes not investment, a house used to be a "home" once upon a time, but now very sadly it's not!

All the GT cars back then were for the rich or young and stupid, baby boomers only want what they couldn't have back then, mainly early 70's and they drove cheap second hand cars due to budgeting, to support a wife and young family, now they want that experience!
Idiots if you ask me, just want to relive the past, but the past is gone, and super marketing has taken over common sense!....

You only have to compare prices of vehicles from the 50's-60's to ones from the 70's to see this..

What vehicles are you comparing? Pillarless Pontiac/Chevies from the late ‘50s seem dear as ever. Rolls/Bentley remain up there, too.

It’s got to be time to push for a legal way to reproduce the XY in limited numbers.

Correct. And the further you reach back the more this fact is borne out - good FJs can be had for not much and vintage autos comprehensively restored in the 70s rarely exceed $20k.

1990s/00s JDM is worth a mint now too, not sure if its 'elder millennials' pumping up the prices there for their hero cars or the fact they were in movies such as F&F and popular globally, as soon as something goes 25 years old its eligible to be imported to the USA.

I wouldn't mind having a 1930s/1940s car, something with a straight 8 engine, I saw a mint condition 1930s Buick Special with a straight 8 go for something like $25K recently.

Restored mokes and minis are fetching close to 40K at the moment.

So.much money for a small car.

People are buying to remember their youth and as others have said buying because they couldn't get one when they were new.

People are also cashed up now, that may change next year when interest rates head north.
