I bet the civic planners are “front in” parkers.

Amazingly, around here, there are some angle parks mandated as front in. You risk a $120+ fine for parking safely.

I don't think one of them is, he lives on 30ac. I'm house sitting his house atm.

Yes like here. Some towns like Albury/Wodonga/Yarrawonga/Alexander have the parking in the middle of the road drive in - drive out deal.

Funny most motels insist on front in parking only too, something to do with exhaust pipes facing the room doors I guess.

How dare you, Please do not poison our guests when leaving.

I do understand that if its roadside as you'd need to be facing the same direction traffic flows which is a law I believe.

Several Riverina towns have the reverse in angle parking much the same thing only most drivers these day wouldn't know how to do it.

Just look for the big gouge marks on the gutters from exhaust pipes and tow bars

You can also tell locals as they're usually missing a left rear mudflap

Selling single LH flaps looks like a good business to be in there.

I noticed that when I was in Nowra, they had signs up about front in parking only, so I parked front in.

Then I went and grabbed dinner and came back, everyone at the motel was reverse parked in so I joined them

As soon as one person does it then its fair game

Yeah there's always that one who parks alongside their room across several front ins. I suggested to the motel at Chiltern I often stayed at could stick up a YT channel filming the antics of motel parking, it would be a hit like 11ft bridge.

Usually back ins want to offload stuff from the boot.

Exactly my point from an earlier post.

Sometimes you have to do what's 'allowable' on the occasion...even if that's front in first.

if councils and businesses had the intelligence to change parking to a 30* they would loose 1 car space per row and make it so much easier for the numbats who dont use their brain cells

I thought that was normal in country towns? Seems to be in most country towns I've been to in NSW.

Front in angle parking is the worst parking configuration. Whoever at local councils is mandating this should lose their job.

It's bad enough leaving these parks in a normal 4 door car. Reversing out in a coupe or van is pretty much just reversing blind and hoping for the best.
At least reverse cameras are more common on new cars which makes this style of parking slightly less dangerous.

Yes, more common in NSW but not here.

Tip..... for blind reversing out of an angle spot in a van/truck, at that angle, I can cautiously use the shop window fronts to sight down the road for vision.

I recon they would work better angled the other way so people have to reverse in

The town I grew up in was 45 degree rear-in. Only a handful of road rage incidents from people who tailgated and didn't allow room for the car in front to reverse. And the above mentioned mudflap issue....

I liked it, because you knew what was around before you backed in, and you could see clearly to leave.

Then council decided they'd widen the footpaths for cafe's and make it all parallel parking, on one side only. 50+ spots cut down to just 10. And they wonder why main streets are dying...

One comment said to go back in to buy a knife. Ever tried to buy plastic picnic cutlery at Woolies? They demand to see your licence to prove you’re over 18, before they’ll sell you a plastic knife. It’s such a deadly weapon…….

If that driver was 17 they’d be **** outta luck!

One thing always amazes me- seeing a driver reverse park a semi-trailer up to a loading dock. Truly it’s a thing of beauty to watch. I’ve never seen a B-double reversed though. How they do that- it’s real skill. #respect…
