Because of a Lamborghini driver loosing control of his car and killing a young girl and injuring another. Parliament are looking to introduce new law that a person driving a car with a power to weight ratio over a certain level will need a special licence also if Traction control is turned off or disabled it interns a $5,000 fine

What a knee jerk reaction.Plenty of people drive high powered cars without getting into trouble. On the other hand even more people drive low powered cars and do get into serious trouble

Source? News article?
Yeah but no one cares when this exact thing happened to P platers with vehicle restrictions or motorcycle riders, where was everyone standing up for their right to choose? |

Bit different restricting young and inexperienced drivers and riders compared to mature folks who already know how to drive

I love how everyone supports something, until it effects them then all of a sudden there's a problem. |

There was talkback radio, suggesting folk need a tow a caravan addendum to your license. I don't mind something like that but this guy killed a pedestrian in a Lambo, you can't legislate that

Can loose control and kill someone at 100km in a 60 zone in a Hybrid Camry just as easily as doing 100 in a 60 zone in a Lambo..........

maybe they should concentrate on getting SA drivers to learn to even do basic motorist stuff...like merging, blocking the overtaking lane, indicating, giving way, not indicating right, whilst going straight through a roundabout, not stopping at the entrance of a roundabout where the nearest car is 100 metres away....easily the ****test drivers i have ever seen....i have lived in 6 states, and was a courier in both sydney for ansett, and melbourne for mayne nickless....the SA motorist is basically a brain dead hazard to everyone else...

I buy damaged cars from a few Australia wide auctions, If I was going by which state had the most write offs each week, Victoria would win hands down 10 to 1 to other states.
Just checked Pickles just now and VIC is 1010 cars, to the next closest NSW with 691, for such a small state their driving must be atrocious |

I thought of that, I have been buying from auction sites for the last 20 years, do they flood every week in VIC?, Just seems that every auction site I use has way more VIC cars than any other state, plus the main auction site I use have a dedicated flood and hail auctions that are not included with the general, damaged or prestige car auctions.
You might be right with Pickles and Manheim though? This is the Pickles site as of today ACT 76 NSW 678 NT 61 QLD 467 SA 449 TAS 88 VIC 1010 WA 486 |

So because nobody in the courts was willing to throw the book at this guy, they're throwing it at everyone else via more nanny state laws.

Is the guy with the Lambo Vladimir Putin's brother ?
Just goes to show though if you have plenty of money you can pretty much get away with anything, I know if that was me and I had turned off all drivers aids in my crap box, I would be getting the full sentence with my crap lawyer. |
