Yet another example of typical poor journalism or reporting these days. Just because all the people standing around the water cooler agreed with you doesn't make it factual. If you want to write an article on more larger utes becoming available, then write that. Don't make up some rubbish about 'motorists turning their backs on traditional utes in droves' and then give one example of a bloke who traded his old rodeo on a Ram 1500. Do some work. Don't be lazy. I guess that's what I get for browsing news.com.au. It really isn't news.

2nd mistake was thinking that journalism is anything other than poor reporting. You can pretty much say that most journalism is a over exaggeration of the truth at best and they thrive on feeding us worthless crap they call newsworthy. |

They made you click. They win.
News.com.au is tabloid. Very occasionally does raise some fair points, but then ruins the credibility of the piece with the method of "reporting".

News.com.au is nothing more than Australia's poor version of TMZ.
Just utter gutter trash with click bait gaslighting headlines. You lose brain cells for even reading any of their articles.

A bit like outlets raving about Hilux in reviews because they have an advertising contract, Wheels we’re notorious for it back in the days of Holden, unles they had one on the covers, ithe edition wouldn’t sell |

Yep, it's just another method of advertising framed as a news article and not actually a "journalistic article". Not that they have much credibility these days either.
They do it alot on that site. TV shows, Kmart products, Bunnings products, the list goes on. |

The News Limited and Nine Websites are doing the same thing.
You go to drive.com.au and a damn popup what car do you want to buy, we have a great deal etc. |

Rubbish click bait.
It’s seriously embarrassing how far journalism has fallen in the last couple of decades. |

There is a reason why I no longer "read" newspapers or watch the "news".
Newspapers are a waste of paper full stop and a relic of the past. I have no interest in reading about other people's lives or problems. I have enough of my own without reading about what a footballer has snorted up his nose or screwed his personal assistant. Pointless, waste of time "news" that I'm better off not even looking at, let alone reading. As for the TV news, they spend most of their on-air time telling viewers what is coming up after the break or later in the bulletin. JUST TELL ME NOW FOR F'SAKE! And most of the telecast is just filler "news" about what colour underwear the Queen once wore, or which is the latest trend in hair styles. I guess all this gives people something to talk about other than what a sh.t show the planet Earth is now.

Traditional media is dying and they know it. They produce this utter garbage in an attempt to get more eyes.
It's sad that Youtubers put more effort into research and producing factual stories than the clowns at Newscorp and Fairfax. |

The TV news on the NSW floods usually show a 'reporter' standing in front of some water, saying that the peak is expected to be xx.x metres at some time tonight and then it will start to recede.
Then a couple of days later, when the water has receded, a few pollies will turn up, express shock and horror to numerous 'reporters', promise some money and depart. Yawn. |

News dot com headlines are horrendous, they seem to recycle the same 6
“FURY as coles make this one change” (they’re deleting a line that no one buys). *Shows a pic that accompanied a story yesterday now with a red circle on it “Horror detail…..”’ *Shows an ugly pic of the queen “One word that will bring down the monarchy” “Everyone is loosing it over this one Kmart item” “An honest Hello Fresh review, prices might surprise you” Honestly it’s like reading soap weekly.

What was that famous quote, something about technology and idiots -if you tell them something often enough they'll be brainwashed into believing it? Something along the lines of: “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” |

It is just me or does anyone else find the thread title a little ironic?

Shouldn’t it be “FURY as forum goers leave news dot com in droves after HORROR reporting”

Admit it, you read Dolly Doctor, too.
What about a Daily Mail style take on this problem? “Tanned and toned Katie steps out ALONE as forum users pillory News Ltd Journalists.” (Cue to insert typical paparazzi photos of Katie Price not wearing much.) Last edited by Citroënbender; 04-12-2022 at 05:56 PM. |

(Please note the URL is tongue-in-cheek!)
I personally think the “No **** Sherlock” academic research results come close behind. Like the recent one which discovered that the drunker people became, the less they were cognisant of their drunkenness. |

Not all are sensationalist or lacking in substance.
I think you could say this gem is full of substance and highly informative! What really happens to poop on a cruise ship |

I wish this was one of those sensationalist headlines...
