G'day all,
A quick question to those in the know. I'm looking at a factory LPG AU Falcon that's for sale locally and wondering what the procedure is as far as getting it registered in Queensland. I've never owned an LPG fuelled vehicle so am pretty much in the dark on them. Aside from the normal safety certificate, I'm assuming I'd probably need some sort of gas inspection certificate as well? Also would the gas tank itself need to be inspected and recertified? Any other traps and pitfalls I should be aware of? Thanks in advance. |

Yep the tank has to be in date, if it only has 6 months or less they will want it inspected.
Tank will need to be removed for inspection, its a visual as well as a pressure inspection. Last 1 I had done was $165, there is no requirement for it to be professionally removed and replaced, it only needs the inspection certificate and number to pass registration. |

As the XC is on club rego now I'm pulling the tank out, just don't drive it enough to warrant the expense, plus LPG isn't cheap any more.

Funny that you don't have to prove that it was worked on by a certified gas fitter, you just have to show the certification on the tank. |
