Holden dealers did this with VF Commodore.. You could have them add performance packs pre delivery, by the dealer, and have it included on the contract/rolled into the lease/financing. Main difference between that and your idea is that the drivetrain warranty was covered by Walkinshaw (who was the main one) or Tekno (ther other option at the time) with holden warranting the remainder of the vehicle like normal. Could also do suspension, wheels and some interior stuff.

When I bought my redline in 2017 I looked into it.. Walkinshaw started with Exhaust/Intake/Tune to that you could add cam, supercharger (with or without the cam) up to 547kw. I didnt bother a I had a workshop in mind to use that I think was better but apparently it was popular.... ANd a decent idea for someone who wants some more grunt but needs to lease/doesnt want to deal with it himself....

If not for the donut sitting next to my coffee mug I'd be sad right now. I've always wished I kept my G6ET..and also wondered what was it's real stock power output...anyone know if was slightly more than 270kW?

Ford were always conservative with the 6T, as to not 'impede' on the bigger, better V8's. Many dynoed with what would appear more than the stated flywheel kw number throughout the life of the engine from BA to FGX
Much the same with the blown 5L.

And yes you should have kept it!

Ford needs to allow V6 petrol and V8 petrol engines as an optional extra across the range. This will allow for full 3500kg towing capacity and payloads. Imagine getting a XL single cab ranger with a 5.0 coyote V8 !

2.3L Ecoboost and 7.3L Godzilla would be more appropriate for the type of vehicle rather than Coyote IMO

When the buyer arrived to pay and collect he said he was going to the bank to get a bank cheque however on arrival pulled out cash...it took us 3 goes to finally count the money correctly...I did check if any robberies occurred that morning.

I'd be more worried about a robbery occurring 10mins after the guy left.

My FG XR6T with the ZF dyno'd at 365hp at the wheels with only a K&N panel filter in the stock airbox.. which equates to 270kw or so...

Miami blown 5 litre was the same... 335kw? Yeah right, try 400... Ford telling pork pies there....

I would be sprinting to my dealer and throwing money at the salesman if Ford made that available. Hell, I'd be happy with something other than an asthmatic diesel engine, 2.0 or 2.3 EcoBoost 4, a 2.7 EcoBoost V6. Don't care which, but I'm over diesel.

The limit on V6 diesel production was set in the first twelve months,
I think they’ll now make as many as needed for Australia….

the 2.0 diesel is not a big seller these days, Aussie buyers have spoken

Yep, a modern F150 Lightning or C/K 1500 454SS.





They were 'go fast' versions of the F150 and C/K1500 (Silverado), slow by todays standards but the first of their kind

I love that era American ute, they look like they were designed with a 15cm ruler and a crayon on a napkin, big, square and basic, plastic as far as the eye can see and an engine bay you could fit four families of Ethiopians in.

351 Wheezer or 454 depending on your brand of choice.

Povvo pack Ranger, 4x2, tub or tray back, 2.3L Ecoboost 4 cylinder, some bigger wheels with HT tyres or Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV as the factory fitment.

Circa 230KW/450NM thing would haul ***.

Maybe chuck the high spec interior in it with the good stereo, chuck the 10sp auto behind it with 6sp manual optional, but both with shorter final drive ratios so you can blow the back tyres off it at will, think of a 5.4L 3V BA/BF Falcon with 4.11 ratio in the rear

Single cab, 4x2 and go some nice 17" wheels, 235/65R17 108W Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV as the factory fitment for rubber, lower it a bit and give it some nice street presence.

Can be specced up with tub or tray.

Still keep the leaf springs because parts bin special Franco job, make it out of everything available in the current Ranger from global parts bin. Absolute weapon designed for backwards baseball cap wearing, monobrow sporting degenerates in hi-vis clothing with speed dealer shades, with the matching mullet thats made the comeback from the dead for some reason - the workin' mans supercar.

Of course I'd love to do a 7.3L Godzilla version but you know, all the engineering team at Ford Australia got the *** last year so parts bin sales team job it is

VW are doing 2L (single) turbo 4wd Amoraks for $55k which isn't bad.

A place I worked at 20 years ago imported a 454 SS, the motor had been worked over and the guys had a good time flogging it around, I pretty much only idled it in and out of the factory. The other one I remember was a square body Silverado that had a wild 283 and 4spd in it, thing hammered.
