Default ID’ing “On hold” Tune

Trying to find out what it’s called and who wrote it. I’ll start by saying it’s not “Opus No.1”.

Best description is an American, sort of Chicago brass-sounding funk tune with muted guitar picking. Bassline is fairly trebly and the percussion isn’t overly deep. Might be in the key of G.

Only asking because it annoys me not to know what it is.

You could install Shazam on your phone and use it to ID the tune.

That would feel like cheating. I’m hoping someone such as ford71V8 might have a clue.

It's OK to cheat sometimes

Talking Re: ID’ing “On hold” Tune

CB, isn’t it cheating to ask someone else for the answer?

How about:
Cissy Strut by The Meters
Got to Get You Into My Life" by Earth, Wind & Fire

PS. I used technology to provide those guesses.

Or if you’re talking about tunes by Chicago, how about these:

“Street Player”
“Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is” (probably not a good choice for music-on-hold)
"25 or 6 to 4"

Or some others:
"Soul with a Capital 'S'" by Tower of Power
"Pick Up the Pieces" by Average White Band

Have you ever listened to Leonid and Friends? They are the best cover band of Chicago ever.

By “Chicago” I meant a sound more like (say) the Chess Records house band. Not the group of that name.

…Will probably end up discovering it’s some specifically written tune for music on hold, pushed out of a computer by a 23-year-old in Belgium. :-/

I’ve heard it at multiple businesses, most recently Australian ECU Repair.

I think also, VG Auto Paints and Hi-Octane Coatings.

Until one of the sleuths from here calls up those places and listens to the music on hold, here is something good to watch - a great cover by Leonid and Friends.
