Default Ebay Question

Just brought a car model off ebay because I am bored. It was from this link here:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ford-Falcon-E...QQcmdZViewItem

Now, I went through the usual steps and sent the cash, only to go bak to "My Ebay" and see a little note under the item that says "eBay Note: This user is no longer registered on eBay."

Has this happened to anyone else? I sent the member a messege so ill give it a day or so and see what happens.

Just wondering has anyone else gone through a sale like this?

Its only $28 but still, ill be a bit annoyed if it doesn't go through. I mean how hard would it be to tell me BEFORE that the member is no longer registered!

Thanks.

normally it means they are dodgey and ebay got to them .. but in this case I don't know. They have a very high number of points and an active E Bay store.
As you said, I would wait a couple of days and see what happens.

Yeah mate, happened to me last year. I think by memory it was a rare Pink Floyd record from England. About a day after a did a bank transfer, I noticed the seller's account had been closed.

I didn't have the sellers email address, so I could not contact him at all.

Luckily though, about 2 weeks later it came in the post.

If the seller's got a pretty decent feedback rating, you would think he would hold his side of the bargain, whether he's registered still or not. Maybe send an email to ebay to ask for some advice. Other than that, if the seller doesn't respond (give him more than a few days), just cross your fingers.

I've also bought stuff and the user was deregistered after sending through the funds. I still got the goods, but sweated for a little while.

My advice is, go through the verification process with PayPal, and then you do have a mechanism for getting your money back. I also noticed that since PayPal is instant, that you get your stuff that little bit quicker.

This also happens when the seller hasn't paid their monthly account. They will be noted as "user not registered". Just ask eBay and double check about whether it is a suspension, a non-payment of account or something else. They may not tell you due to privacy but atleast try and find out what the go is. Relay your concerns about going through with the deal. See what they say.

yeh I bought some tools, paid the money. "No longer registered user" appeared 5 days later. Sent heaps of e-mails with no response. Still waiting, 4 months now. I assume that no tools are forthcoming..... :(

It appears it must have been only temporary or an ebay stuff up.

His details are all there now, he has a bloody good rep too!

Cheers,

That happened to my dad, he went to buy a mobile phone off ebay soon after he paid the seller de-registered and he was out of pocket $400 and no phone. Hopefully this isnt the case for you, good luck with it.

Ebay will eventually force all payments through Paypal. By hook or by crook, they'll do it.

Yeah, bet the response is contact the seller. Ebay leave it up to the parties to resolve. I assure you this is how they work. In the end if hes a shocker they will deregister him, but only if hes a real shocker to deal with. Go read the ebay forum, theres heaps of chit chat about ebays lack of willingness to actually do anything. If you use paypal ebay guarantee it (they refund if it goes awry), and they make a percentage of each trans above the seller and listing fees. They want you to use paypal, they wont go to great lengths to assist you to use other methods, but they wont tell you thats their motivation either. By hook or by crook. See what im sayin?

Of course, he may deliver and given his feedback Id say he will. I just like bashing ebay. The concept is great, the everyday running for you and me, not so great.

I have had it happen and the seller has always still kept their side of the bargain, IMO I think they get banned for not paying their eBay fees, as soon as they cough up they let them carry on again as usual.

I have bought shiploads on eBay and never a problem once, I do research carefully.
Check my sig, most of those goodies came at stingy, stingy prices! I love eBay and how great it makes my car go!
