Default 1993 KH Laser Help!!

Hey guys im a bit of a noob when it comes to this sort of stuff,
and i really need some help.

My laser seems to have stopped clicking into gears.
I put the gear on to reverse and then push the accelerator and it just revs alot and then the car bobbles a bit, it seems like it hasnt hit the gear.

Im just wondering if anyone can tell me what the problem is, how i can solve it and a valuation on the repair.
I know thats asking a lot, but im really short on cash and live out in the west of sydney and need it to travel to work=(

Regards Ken

So how do you get it to eventually move into gear? Shift it into Park/Neutral then have another go?

Yah pretty much.. the reverse gear seems to be the major problem.. but the drive gear is progressively getting worse.

Its an absolute pain.. do u have any ideas on how much replacement of the gearbox would be?
Or whether there is such a thing as auto transmission repair?

Sounds like the auto is in bad shape - does it have any fluid in it (do you know how to check it)?
Look in the Yellow Pages under: Transmissions - Automotive - Cars

Sounds like you've done the box in. Don't stuff around, take it to a transmission specialist.

Good news for you is, despite what he wants to replace it, a second hand F-Series auto box is $200-$250 max for a pick-a-part and can be replaced at home with a days work.
