Alot of people use Pacemaker Extractors and seem to be quite happy with them.

Im sending my AUII XR8 220 in for an Exhaust soon and G & D Recomended Pacemaker Extractors into High Flow Cat's then 3 Inch Mandrel Bent system.

That's pretty much what I've got on my 185kw AU1 XR8, except I have Herrod's 4into1 extractors, which are similar to the Paccie 4into1s.

If you want to bump up your low to mid range torque, I can recommend the Paccie Tri-Ys. I had these on my AU2 Forte V8 auto with HF cats and single 3" mandrel bent system, and power was around 205 fwkw (149rwkw, from memory), up from 127rwkw (175fwkw) standard.

di fillipo system front to back would be a very good upgrade.

Herrods headers used to be made by defillipo.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I've purchased a set of factory XR8 extractors and cats for my AU V8 ute (175kw) .. will installing them help or hinder performance, sound? Engine is stock with single 2.5" (or 2.75"?) system and pseudo-performance muffler ..
Rod.

If they are series 3 extractos, then they will help. If they are series 1 or early series 2, they are the same as what you already have.

If your doing extractors on a N/A 5L may sure they are 4-2-1 (Tri Y) design. The comp series or 4-1's are just to big for the 5L and you loose out on the bottom end.

I'm swapping mine back to tri Y's.

As far as exhaust goes the general feel is dual 2 1/2 mandrel or single 3"

The series II/III extractor's are the same, and Rod, the cat's alone are better than what you allready have, I didn't think the 1-ton(175kw) ute's had extractor's, so they would definetely help.

No probs .. I'm happy with the purchase .. even the cats are well worth it. I'm just wondering if I'd hinder performance by putting bigger extractors on a stock engine? [ yes my base 5.0L does have "extractors" .. about the size of garden hose! ]
Rod.

You will definetley not hinder the performance by putting the XR8 extractor's on, they will help even if your engine is stock.

On a stock 5L/T3 yes, but Noddy put them on and gained nothing and his only has a baby cam. He chose Pacey Tri Y's I believe.

You can hear the difference between the auto and manual in XRfealla's sound clip's, and I think the single system with stock header's on the ute sound's much deeper and better than the twin.

the twin is alot louder when your into it, at idle the the single is louder.
The twin has a cackle as you can hear, whereas the single is more of a bark.
I personally prefer the twin, but the single still sounds sweet on song.

But in actually loudness over stock, with WOT the twin with extractors would probably be well over twice as loud, the single cat back on the ute would be just on twice and loud

Ive always had twin systems on my windsors, they are especially good on modifyed engines, cams, headwork, induction etc, especially big solids cams.
Both my utes have single 3" systems, both work extremely well, and have no loss of torque down low,and produce better power and torque from idle than the factory systems they replaced.
Specs and click the links to listen, you will get many opinions with a thread like this...

mine...
car: AU2 XR8 PURSUIT
exhaust: 2 1/2 into 3" single
extractors: 1 7/8" 4 into 1 difilippo
heads: stock gt40P
cam: standard tickford (200kw)
other: 3" HPC steel pipe,70mm tickford TB, custom CAI.

idle: click
takeoff: click

the missus...
car: AU2 XR8
exhaust: 2 1/2 into 3" single
extractors: 1 7/8" 4 into 1 difilippo
heads: stock gt40P
cam: Herrod motorsport
other: chiptorque chip

idle: click
takeoff: click

I have the Hurricane headers with some hi flow cats (don't know the name) running a 2.5" twin system with 2 oval offset 14" Magnaflow mufflers - one on each bank and - a custom merge pipe and a rear twin 2.5 in and out rear res it still has the nice note but there is no drone at all
