its a DA LTD , since it has woodgrain and cushy velour electric seats ( NA Fairlanes never had the wood, and had either cloth or plain velour)

nice buy for a grand....

Fuel pump is shagged, Injectors are shagged, Fuel Filter shagged.

Its prolly never been run on fuel for ages. so A you should replace or clean the injectors, Replace the fuel filter and check the pump is running, or that theres no kill switch on your fuel pump.

Ok Then Couple Questions: (1) Does Fuel Pump Have To Be From A Da Or Can It Be Ea Or Na Etc (2) Injectors Same Thing Can They Say Be 4.1 Or Do They Have To Be 3.9 . Motor Is Stock 3.9 But Have Just Changed Head. I Am In The Western Suburbs Of Melbourne Any Ideas On Someone Good This Side Of Town. Also Am Waiting For A Manual To Arrive And Set Of Tech Notes As Well. In Advance To All Thanks

Feul pump can come from an EA, injectors can come from an EA 3.9 not from a 4.1. Sorry I can't help you with the western suburbs of melbourne but you shouldn't have to replace the injectors. You can get them ultrasonicly cleaned, the people that do it are usualy mobile as well. It works wonders!

Nice looking car Ian. Especially for $1k
I'd say dur to not being used enough the fuel system had died.
See if you can get a pressure gauge on the fuel line. This is one way to see if you are getting enough fuel.

If you plan on keeping her, get some reco'd injectors, not just 2nd handers.

Dual Fuel Falcon get injectors blockages. Comes from the oil vapour from the scavenging system coating the inside of the manifold (and the injector nozzle) with a film of oil. Because the injector is not flowing fuel to clean itself it gets crap and the tip which ruins the spray pattern.

The best fix $ can buy is new pindle and seats in the injectors from Petroject/Injectronics etc or someone like that but ultrasonic cleaning is a cheaper option and will also fix the problem but it may return within 12 months.

Nice car, Nice pick up. If everything works and its rust free then what great value.

I love how some good fords are so cheap that we can play with em without breaking the bank
