Dave
I don't thing covers will do too much, we'll only get spray if it's really rough. Best thing is to have a good coat of wax before we go and give the cars a good wash when we get to Devonport. Wayne |

Cheers Wayne,
That sounds like the go then. And of course, once the cars are actually on the ship I beleive we will have far more important gatherings to attend to on the open deck upstairs :baby bott...certainly sounds like we are going to have a good size crew on the "Spirit"...of Tassie that is!!! Now I just have to try and not wish my life away until November comes around!!! _2: Dave |

Hey Andrew,
There is now a reasonable size crew flying down, another group driving and taking the Melbourne ferry and us...from the posts we've had so far this is who I understand will be on the Sydney ferry journey? From FPV99's post it looks like they'll be with us too...if anyone needs any further details on our booking send a PM and we'll let you know. This is who it is so far for the Sydney Crew :baby bott 747FLI rbl08 blkpuss TAN066 Boss Fox FPV99 Cheers...Dave |

Just an update from us CQ er's that do not have the time to drive, MNM's and Tucky's are now fllying from Rocky to Brissie as well, courtesy of mr. Virgin. At $59 bucks one way and only 1 hour instead of seven behind the wheel, only way to go.
Who else is flying and what airline, we are Jetstar Brissie to Tassie. :

Symmons Plains Travellers,
So did any of you watch last night's Great Escape documentary on our now famous miners? If you did you may have heard Todd speak briefly about his "ute". Well, the brief shot of him in his front yard with his kids revealed what I depicted as a silver AU dumped to pipes with a sizeable set of rims for feet! Good Man! Further, since we will be staying in the Tamar Valley, how about we all head to Beaconsfield for a couple of passing brews at the Club Hotel? Skip! |

As you may or may not have heard there has been talk of the Sydney ferry being cancelled. Foxylady and myself have done some leg work to make sure we have not been left at Sydney dry docked. We all know FORDS are the best cars, but i am quite sure they are unable to float all the way to Tassie. At this stage the boat is still leaving Sydney and if and when this does change we will be the first to let everyone know. Other arrangements have been thought of but hopefully they won't need to be implented. Anyhow how many sleeps? TAN066 and Foxylady

We had every intention of coming....I've had leave booked for ages.
Unfortunately though I'm the only one who will be able to get away. Jo has uni exams and it's the end of term for the kids as well. That's not too much of a problem with Brooke and Brianna, but we can't really have Jade missing out on her exams. Sadly, we won't be be coming to this one. Bugger Panda

It's all about the trip, and if it's only me on my own it's going to be pretty boring. The kids really got a kick out of the Darwin trip and they would love going to Tasmania as well. Ah well, there's always next time. Panda

Well, it's all confirmed Tucky, the ferry service is defunct as of August. So now instead of sitting at the bar from Sydney to Tassie our poor souls will be behind the wheel all the way back down to Melbourne before we can board a ferry...BUGGER! Oh well, we will no doubt have an enourmous crack on the way down anyway but sailing out of the harbour would have been a treat. We shall all however still be trackside on that weekend which will help wipe away the tears of our now defunct sail! e e e

Wow, thats a pity about the Sydney Ferry!
For all you guys that are now going to Melbourne, you are welcome to join the current group travelling down. We are departing early Tuesday morning November 7th with an overnight stay in NSW. Depart NSW early Wednesday morning November 8th to arrive in Melbourne late afternoon. Board the ferry which departs Melbourne that evening and docks in Devonport at 7.00am on Thursday 9th November. I have been getting prices for motels, but if I can find out how many will now be travelling down, we might be able to get a better price. So anyone who wants to join us, just either reply or send me a pm, and I will add you to the list.
