Default Telstar TX5 (AT2) Stereo wireing diagram needed.

Hi Everyone!
I have a Telstar TX5 (AT2) and am desperately serching for a wireing diagram to put a sterio in. (Last one got stolen) if anyone has one or knows where i could find one could they please, please! e-mail me at No_Inteligence@msn.com

a lot of people would like the radio diagramms
my diagrams only show a red /black to radio then radio is earthed
all I can suggest is the speakers share a common earth - then the + is usually the white and black stripe or a stripe of some colour

not much help I know

how old is the car, btw?
i may be able to help a bit if it's an old model Telstar, as i've just done an extensive rewire on the original clarion 2-piece unit, adding a Sony 10-disc CD Multichanger to it, and putting new speakers in the car all round, so i can tell you roughly what wire is what. you'd just have to connect the wires up afterwards, unless your harness plug hasn't been cut off

N_I,

All you need is a $10 multimeter from Dick Smith and a 1.5v battery.

Use the multimeter to find Power (Red prong on the cable, black prong on a bare part of the car body, should be ~13.5v all the time), ACC(As above but only 13.5v when the key is on ACC, Ground(Cable should be as thick as the Power or ACC, but no voltage reading. Put the multimeter on continuitity and test the ground cable and the body. There should be close to no resistance.

Then for the speaker wire. Use the continuitity tester on 2 cables (they should have been next to each other on the plug. (this is when you hope they don;t have a common ground) When you find 2 cables with a reading, get the battery and join each side to the wire briefly. If the speaker cone pushes out out, the cable touching the +ve end is the +ve cable. If it goes in, reverse the battery and test again.


When your doing all this be careful that the cables don;t touch each other and as soon as you work out a cable, tape up the wire and label it. You may need to get a spare radio fuse for the dash fusebox.

finally found a forum that has more wiring info mazda and telstar are close

Default Telstar Wiring for radio's

RIGHT!!!
i just finished stripping off the panels on my '83 Telstar and reviewed the wiring i done and this is what i came up with, but ALWAYS remember to use a multimeter/circuit tester as well to confirm the correct wiring

Telstar(GC/GD Platform) radio wiring
Light Green - Permenant live
Dark Green - Ignition live
Red/Green stripe - night illumination(light circuit)
Black - Ground/Earth

Speakers
Front right
Blue/Brown - Negative
Blue/Brown with Green - Positive

Front left
Blue/Brown - Negative
Blue/Brown with Orange - Positive

Rear right
Blue/Brown - Negative
Blue/Brown with Red - Positive

Rear left
Blue/Brown - Negative
Blue/Brown with White - Positive
