Default TC Cortina and 750 Rochester?

Hi all.

I am looking at purchasing a TC Cortina, and have found one advertised that says it has a 750 Rochester in it. (Car is also running: a TE Cortina 6cyl crossflow, customworked head, cam, bored 60thou)

I don't know much about this, and am looking for some info on what it is, and why they may have used it over another kind of carby.

Any information would be appreciated.

These were the carbies used on Holden & Chevy V8's. They're an American carby but were used on the Holden 308 (5.0ltr) & later 253 (4.2ltr) blue motors. A good carby but hard to find bits for, especially jets & needles.
A bloody big carby for a 6cyl though! I would reckon about 400cfm would be more than enough.

Default Rochester Carby

A 750 rochester carby is a big carby and I wouldn't have thought it would run properly with a carby that big. But then again it has had some head work and stuff so... personally if I was to buy the car I would probably get rid of that carby and just go with a 650 Holley
