Default Car Alarms

How much are car alarms roughly and where do you usually get them fitted?
I'm after one that will utilize my factory remote as well.

I just got a quote done at Strathfield last Friday for $380, that includes Alarm and immobilizer, Fitted.

i went to another smaller company here in wollongong and they quoted me $400.

this is used with your factory remote i was told.

hope this helped a little man.

Expect to pay between 350 to 1000 dollars depending on what you want. A quality installation from a reputable dealer will cost more. The independants little bloke whos been around for a long time generally survives on word of mouth and is likely to be better than bigger high volume places. Also make sure the actual installer is half decent .They all try to look the part but many are not .

I've got a good contact at my local AutoBarn. He's putting in a High spec Viper alarm for me next week, when i take delivery of the EL. It's got pager alarm (replaces factory keypad) and has graphics on the pager telling you which part of the car is being affected etc. Also has tilt sensor (for wheel jacking), battery backup alarm, and secondary concealed siren. (incase they disconnect the primary siren). Has many wizzbang features that i cbf going into. $1019 fitted. Viper are a good unit, and if you have decent wheels it's worth asking for the tilt sensor as an addition. If the car changes angle by 2 degrees, the siren will be activated.

Try this guy http://www.soundnsecurity.com.au/. I've used him before and he did a good job for a good price.
